WRESTLING NEWS ROUNDUP A ton of news came out today from around the wrestling leading to what should be a very busy summer filled with big shows. Leading the way were several announcements from Warrior Pro Wrestling: - The company announced that this year’s Golden Gate Tournament will be pushed out to mid-July. No official reason was given, but the plan as of now seems to be to hold Warriorversary immediately afterward per usual, likely sometime in September. It was stated that the participants will be announced via posted interviews on warriorprowrestling.com beginning next week.
- With the delay in the G2, the company also announced the long awaited Women’s One Night Tournament- which will be taking place next week, June 16th at 5:30pm PT LIVE from Gorilla Hall. The tournament will feature the entire current Warrior Pro women’s roster plus a few surprise guests from outside promotions. Officials stated the full details, including a list of participants, would be released later this week. - An injury update on John Logan revealed his post match injury attack resulted in 2 broken ribs and two more cracked. He is expected to miss the G2, with an eye towards Warriorversary as a return target. Warrior Pro announced that both Colossus Rhodes and Paco Pequeno have been suspended indefinitely for their roles in the attack. As of now there has been no comment from Paco or Rhodes regarding the suspension. Other news from around the world... ------------------------------------------------ Lucha POWER announced a card for this Friday. This would be the first show since February for the company, when El Macho quietly had surgery on a long ailing hip. While still recovering, the long time owner is doing well and expected to make a full recovery and return to the ring. The promotion announced a slew of summer dates, with this week’s show meant to kick things off. Lucha POWER Presents: House Show #2:Doctor Dorado vs Vaquero Hexagon Jr vs Super Mohan Los Terribles (Pantero/Lobo) vs Dungeon Dominguez & Jack Gold (w/Paco) Lucha POWER Championship: Diego Guerrero (c) vs Nightmare Clown ------------------------------------------------ Dragon Fire Japan has been running small shows off and on since its big New Years tournament, but Covid has hampered any real touring. That looks to change with a new summer schedule that should see regular action for the promotion. This weekend’s show should be a good one, with Kenta Aoki finally defending the newly introduced Heavyweight Championship belt. Dragon Fire Japan: Ring of Fire #1Jett Ohtani/Toa Malosi vs Park Hyun Woo/Masahiro Suzuki Roy Carter vs Koji Sawada (Lightning Pro) Koji Tanaka vs Hideki Nomo Dragon Fire Heavyweight Championship: Kenta Aoki (c) vs Dragon Mask II

After years of rumors, signings, and showcase matches, Warrior Pro Wrestling officially kicks off its women's division with a one night tournament to crown the companies first ever champion. The tournament will consist of all current women under Warrior Pro contract plus a few well known outsiders from familiar organizations. The tournament will be elimination with the Brackets and first round match-ups as follows: Della Wyatt vs Lizzy Jett Pam from Human Resources (STRUGGLE) vs Fiona Walsh
Dash Yamada vs Viper Lopez Annie Chang (PEWA) vs June Allgood (iWe) There will be story lines coming out of this tournament for sure, but maybe the single most intriguing involves the promotion's two biggest signings..
Sitting on opposite ends of the bracket are Dash Yamada and Della Wyatt- who have a bitter feud both in and out of the ring dating back to their respective runs in Japan. Wyatt (the older step sister to Doc- who she also does not get along with) famously back out of a main event with Crusher Honda back in 2012 simply because Dash was on the card. Its unclear how Tank managed to sign both at the same time, but neither woman would comment regarding the other-and while they've met in the ring before in a pair of time limit draws- its clear theres something going on there.
The tournament kicks off WEDNESDAY NIGHT at 5:30pm PT LIVE ON TWITCH

Women’s Tournament 2022 Finally, after years of rumors and vague promises, Warrior Pro Wrestling kicked off its Women’s Division with a highly entertaining one night tournament, crowning the inaugural champion and setting the bar high for the direction going forward. If you missed it, you can check out the full show here: You can also scroll on down for a full recap of the show... Della Wyatt vs Lizzy Jett Recap:A shocking first round match, where the heavily favored Della Wyatt seemed to struggle with the quicker Lizzy Jett before getting dumped on her head via a Guitar Solo on the outside. It seemed like she would recover enough to get back in the ring, but the veteran stumbled with what appeared to be a head injury and couldn’t make the count- giving Lizzy a career defining win. Winner: Lizzy Jett Rating: ***Pam from HR vs Fiona WalshRecap:Physical and hard hitting, this one was a slugfest. The unassuming Pam seemed to be apologizing after each teeth rattling slam to the mat. The match may have turned when an errant dive from Pam took her straight into the support rail. Eventually Fiona would capitalize with a brutal deadlift german for the win. Winner: **** Rating: Fiona WalshDash Yamada vs Viper LopezRecap:An entertaining but largely one sided affair, as Dash looked in control from bell to bell with Viper desperately fighting off offense the whole match. In the end a pair of brutal knees to the head was too much for the ex Lucha POWER star to overcome and Dash Yamada moved on. Winner: Dash Lopez Rating: ****Annie Chang vs June AllgoodRecap:Our last first round match up was also the most intense, with both women getting more and more aggressive as the match wore on. It seemed June was holding the upper hand with her patent knee strikes until a “And She Got The Upset” did its job and sent Annie along to the next round. Winner: Annie Chang Rating: ****Lizzy Jett vs Fiona WalshRecap:This was actually a rematch of a very one sided affair from earlier this year, where Fiona full on abused Lizzy for a quick eight minute squash. This was definitely not that match. Lizzy looked like the fresher wrestler and took Fiona to the limit before the Blackwood Academy student finally slapped on the Double Arm Lock to punch her ticket to the finals. Winner: Fiona Walsh Rating: ****Dash Yamada vs Annie ChangRecap:This match had a strange start to it, as June Allgood could be seen at the entrance to the back locker room being restrained by Warrior Pro security, her goal seemingly to get back out to the ring to continue her fight with Annie Chang. The distraction didn’t seem to faze Chang, who shrugged off Dash’s powerful knee strikes and nailed another “And She Got the Upset.” The movet knocked Dash clean out and moved Annie one win away from championship gold... Winner: Annie Chang Rating: ****Fiona Walsh vs Annie ChangRecap:Simply a classic match, and a surefire candidate for Match of the Year. Fiona was relentless in going for the double arm submission, while Annie played ring position to her advantage, keeping the ropes close and punishing Fiona for being overly aggressive. The match, and the belt, seemed Annies when she perfectly set up one more “And She Got the Upset”… except the resilient Fiona kicked out at two, and locked in her submission far enough away from the ropes this time that Annie had no choice but to tap. Winner: AAAAND NEEEW Women’s Champion… Fiona Walsh Rating: *****After the show, a press conference was abruptly turned upside down when an irrate Della Wyatt stormed out and started a brawl with the new champ, immediately claiming she was never pinned. Rumors also insisted that June continued to roam the halls looking for Annie Chang despite accounts of Annie already leaving the building...

G2 BLOCKS AND SCHEDULE RELEASED After weeks of news without specifics regarding this years Golden Gate Tournament, Warrior Pro Wrestling finally announced both the blocks and the dates for this years affair. Notable- besides the fact that this is the latest that the tournament has taken place since its inception 4 years ago- is who isn’t participating this year. All three former winners have been ruled out, though for different reasons. John Logan is still recovering from his post match attack from Colossus Rhodes, Doc Wyatt is busy defending his belt against Vic Baron on Night One (more on that in a bit), and the winner from the past two years- Machine Gun Mayhem- is no longer under Warrior Pro contract. In a bit of breaking news, multiple sources confirmed that Machine Gun’s contract ran out at the end of 2021 and he has been operating as a freelancer ever since (though to date he has only appeared on one show, Lucha POWER back in early June). This of course means we are guaranteed a first time G2 winner, who will go on to main event Warriorversary 4. A Block SummaryThis block could really be anyone’s guess. Red Masterson is probably the favorite here but he has been recovering from injury. Meanwhile Jimmy Hawkins has been a house on fire lately- including a huge win over Markus Winter at the last PPV- and might finally be ready to make the leap to the next level. Outsider Tupac Machine is a legend in the Tri-State area, and both Super Mohan and Jack Gold have been impressive down in Mexico. Trey Taylor will play the underdog, though the typical tag team specialist scored an upset over Byron Worthy recently and could be a bracket buster if he isn't taken seriously. B Block SummaryThis would seem to finally be Rampage Hunter’s year to get to the finals, but the Belt Collector drew a buzz saw of a block. Both Markus Winter and Byron Worthy have made their names in past tournaments, and Winter was a hair shy of going to the finals last year. Brick Casey, who’s last tournament was 2019 and has been slowly transitioning to a trainer in the Baron Wrestling School, could be the dark horse of the entire tournament. At just under 7 feet this former WfoW champ could run the table if his body holds up- a big if these days. The most shocking inclusion might be WPW President Lefty McDaniel entering himself into the tournament. We havent seen Lanky lace up his boots in over a year, will be interesting to see how much he can still go. There was one spot yet to be announced, as TIPWF will send the winner of a future match between Boss Ross Foreman and Lil Lariato. As was the case last year, the first night of the tournament will include title defenses as a way to kick things off with a bang: Night One Card July 14th at 5:30pm PTNight One Tournament Matches (TBD) Tag Team Championship: Music City Wrecking Crew (c) vs Gears of War World Heavyweight Championship: Doc Wyatt (c) vs Vic Baron (In a Steel Cage)Warrior Grounds #33 Thursday June 29th Warrior Pro Wrestling also announced a very special Warrior Grounds for tomorrow, which will feature a main event of the retiring Cowboy Johnston teaming with Red Masterson in the main event. The card will also feature another tag match with implications, as the Grim Reapers face the Reed Brothers with the winner earning a match against The Beat Alls at Super Hyper Turbo’s big July 4th show next week. Riot vs Tower (w/ Brick Casey) Reapers vs Reeds (winner faces Beat Alls at Super Hyper Turbo July 4th show) Della Wyatt vs Lizzy Jett- Tournament Rematch Red/Cowboy vs Bay BallerzThe internet buzzed with the news of Red and Cowboy teaming up one more time. Warrior Grounds #33 A very special Warrior Grounds to celebrate the Cowboy Johnston retirement tour kicked off with a visual of this years G2 Blocks, before the crowd erupted to the shocking entrance of wrestling legend Triple J- Jerry Joe Johnson. Triple J was a 5 time WFoW champion that carried the company through the tail end of its run (some might say he contributed to its end but that's neither here nor there). Since WfoW folded in 2016 he had been running a small Memphis promotion (where he was mostly booked as the main star, again- neither here nor there). Markus Winter accompanied him into the ring...
Just then, the Music City Wrecking Crew walks out from the back...There’s a brief stare down before the Wrecking Crew heads back to the locker room as Triple J and Markus Winter stare them down inside the ring...Riot vs TowerRecap:This Tower kid is going to be a serious handful when he fully learns to wrestle. What seemed like a tune up match for one half of the tag team #1 contenders turned into a real nail biter. With Brick Casey coaching from the apron, Tower gave Riot all he could handle. The story of the match revolved around Riot ambitiously going for a choke slam on the 7 footer, only to be denied over and over again. The tag team vet eventually was able to pull it off, and pick up a bloody victory. Winner: Riot Rating: **** Camera’s moved to the back where RC interviewed Vic Baron, the challenger for the World title...Before Roger Craig can say anything else Vic walks off leaving the interviewer with a confused and defeated look on his face...Grim Reapers vs Reed BrothersRecap:This match, besides helping to solidify the tag team rankings, was for a shot at the Beat Alls at the Super Hyper Turbo show next week. The Reapers came out wearing their Coke Brothers shirts and STRUGGLE tag titles, which they won over a year ago and have been recently mocking in social media their lack of challengers. The match itself was fast paced and entertaining, with both teams staying aggressive. The Reeds got a couple close calls but in the end Billie Cannon locked in a Steiner Recliner for the win. Winner: Grim Reapers Rating: ***We go back to Roger “RC” Craig who’s set to interview newly crowned Women’s Champion Fiona Walsh.Fiona walks off camera, ending the segment.Della Wyatt vs Lizzy JettRecap:A show stealer of a match as Lizzy Jett followed up her shocking tournament upset with another killer match against the highly touted veteran. Della seemed comfortable early on but just couldn’t keep pace with the younger, faster opponent. After surviving everything she could throw at her, Della would get rolled up trying to hit a counter powerbomb. After the match an exhausted Della immediately exited the ring kicking the ringside fence while inside the ring, Lizzy Jett made a belt motion with her hands... Winner: Lizzy Jett Rating: ****Red Masterson & Cowboy Johnston vs Bay BallerzRecap:The main event was everything you’d want from a good ol fashion Texas tag match. Both teams brawled all over the arena, with Cowboy getting busted open and just fighting on through it like nothing happened. The Ballerz looked sharp and seemed poised to upset a couple of times, but Cowboy was having none of it tonight, and a Red Masterson lariat would end the night on a celebratory note. Winner: Red Masterson & Cowboy Johnston Rating:*** As both Cowboy and Red celebrated in the ring, none other than Warrior Pro World Heavyweight Champion Doc Wyatt strolled out to ringside and grabbed a microphone...Doc drops the mic, smiles, and walk to the back as the show goes off the air...

Its finally here, the event that kicked off Warrior Pro Wrestling back in 2018- the 5th Annual Golden Gate Tournament gets started this week with a huge Night One card. Both men’s titles are on the line, with the Main Event putting the Doc vs Vic trilogy match inside a Steel Cage. As for the tournament? Both blocks will be fighting for a spot in the Finals, with a World Title opportunity on the line at Warriorversary 4. The G2 follows its typical block scoring rules- two points for a win, one for a draw. Tie breakers are settled based on head to head record. Block winners will meet at the finals for a show at the World Champ at Warriorversary. All nights will take place at Gorilla Hall with the Finals moving outdoors to Moffett Field Arena. The action kicks off THIS THURSDAY (7/14) at 5:30pm ON TWITCHNight One Preview: A BlockRed Masterson vs Trey TaylorRed’s lone tournament was two years ago where we was a hair short of making the finals- this year he sits as the block favorite, taking on first time tourney participant Trey Taylor. Can Red start the tournament on a strong note or will we get this whole thing kicked off with a bracket busting upset? Tupac Machine vs Super MohanTwo vets from outside Warrior Pro battle it out to see who can get an early leg up in the block. Tupac is a known submission expert, but he’ll have to catch the faster luchadore first. This should be a fun contrast in styles to help establish the winner as a newcomer to be taken seriously. Jimmy Hawkins vs Jack GoldThis could be a dark horse vote for match of the night pitting two young high flyers against one another. Hawkins has been holding onto the label of “rising star” since he joined the promotion- getting off to a good start will go a long ways towards shedding his label as an underachiever in these tournaments. Jack Gold returns to his old stomping grounds for his first G2, hoping to take the next step in his own career. Expect this one to be blazing fast with a hot finish. B BlockBrick Casey vs Byron WorthyB Block kicks off with Brick Casey’s return to regular action for the first time in over a year, taking on Byron Worthy. For Brick, this is potentially his last shot at a real world title run. For Worthy, it could be the start of many. The story here is whether the former NCAA champion wrestler can get the 400 pound man off his feet and keep in off of them. If “Prime Time” can do that, he’ll have a shot at jumping out of the gate with a win. If not, the powerful vet could be taking his first step towards the top of the block. Markus Winter vs Boss Ross ForemanBoss Ross one his spot in this tournament by proxy, but he’ll have to fight this match himself. The recent Big Gold Buckle Winner brings an impressive resume of strength and power, something Markus Winter is no stranger to himself. The Last Viking almost won his block last year, but he’s going to be fully recovered from his recent shoulder surgery if he wants any chance to repeat that success. Lefty McDaniel vs Rampage HunterThe Warrior Pro President was a surprising entry in this years tournament, with his wrestling schedule severely cut back to allow him to fulfill his front office responsibilities. He’s going to have a full plate on night one, facing the man many favor to win the entire tournament. Lanky will need to use his quickness to avoid Rampage’s obvious strength advantage. The boss is a heavy underdog in this one, but stranger things have happened in the opening night of G2’s before. Tag Team Championship: Music City Wrecking Crew (c) vs Gears of WarA renewed rivalry from two of Japan’s most popular foreign acts as GoW and MCWC face off for the first time in the States. Their head to head record is almost dead even in Japan, so expect a physical, hard hitting affair against two all time great tag teams. World Heavyweight Championship (Cage Match): Doc Wyatt (c) vs Vic BaronThese two have been feuding all year, with both men claiming a win over the other. The third fight will take place in a cage, where we’ll get a final decision on who the better man is. Despite their differences outside of it, inside both men share a similar fight style. Both extremely technically proficient, with deadly submissions and a “win at all costs” mentality. Its anyone’s best guess who walks out on Thursday…

G2 2020: Night 1 The G2 kicked off this year with a show riddled with production issues that caused drama both inside and outside the ring- including a “missed” finish and a match that never happened. That drama overshadowed a night of pretty fantastic wrestling- including some early tournament upsets and a definitive trilogy match for the World Title. Due to the production issues, theres no link to the action live show, though WPW did give fans a link to the raw footage and posted it on their website: Scroll down for recaps of all the matches that did (and didn’t) happen, plus a very interesting post show press conference... Red Masterson vs Trey Taylor Recap:The show kicked off with Masteron, the consensus pick to come out of Block A, looking flat against a very game opponent in Trey Taylor. Trey seized his opportunity and tool Masterson to the limit, kicking out of the Unforgiven and putting Red in deep waters with various submissions late in the match. Red fought through and eventually hit a powerbomb to put Trey away and eek out the victory. Winner: Red Masterson Rating: ***Tupac Machine vs Super MohanRecap:This is where the drama for the night started. With both men putting on a night stealer of a match, with near falls and big moves, suddenly the broadcast went out. During that time, anyone not in the building missed Tupac Machine finally sink in the armbar he had been setting up all match. All the at home audience saw was the production feed kick back on as Tupac’s hand was raised. This caused a mini firestorm on social media almost instantly, primarily from La Guerra fans smelling a screw job given the complicated past between the McDaniel family and iWe owner David Harley (who also owns La Guerra). Lefty McDaniel sent out a tweet between matches that the issue would be addressed after the show, but that the win was “legitimate.” Winner: Tupac Machine Rating: ****Jimmy Hawkins vs Jack GoldRecap:Expected to be high flying and fast paced- this match was exactly that. Gold and Hawkins wasted no time getting right to top speed- but what was billed as a chance for Hawkins to prove he’s ready for the next level, went a different way. Jack Gold looked incredibly impressive, taking the offense to “Flyin” Jimmy and sealing the deal with a big 24 Karat Lotation Moonsault. Winner: Jack Gold Rating:Brick Casey vs Byron WorthyRecap:If Byron Worthy was still feeling the effects from his brutal loss to King Memba a couple weeks ago, it didn’t show here. Against another mammoth size miss-match, Worthy took it too the veteran giant- lifting him up multiple times for some jaw dropping suplexes. Unfortunately he couldn’t quite seal the deal, and Brick survived the onslaught long enough to find his opening, delivering a thunderous Grenade to steal the Night One win... Winner: Brick Casey Rating: ****Markus Winter vs Boss Ross ForemanRecap:Boss Ross, wearing his newly won Big Gold Buckle, took control of this one early and seemed primed to score a quick dominant win over Markus Winter and his new manager, Triple J. But Winter just seemed to hang on through the onslaught of offense, and found his opening to hit Winter Is Coming twice- narrowly picking up the win Winner: Markus Winter Rating: ****Lefty McDaniel vs Rampage HunterRecap:In maybe the most shocking upset of the night- Rampage Hunter fell to Lefty McDaniel, making Block B a wide open race. Rampage was aggressive all match, ragdolling the Warrior Pro President with brutal slams and suplexes. But the big man struggled to finish Lefty off, even as he hit multiple would be match ending spears. In the end “Lanky” would hit a thunderous super kick from the corner for the win. Winner: Lefty McDaniel Rating: ***Tag Team Championship: Music City Wrecking Crew (c) vs Gears of War POSTPONEDIt was announced to the crowd that due to the technical issues plaguing the broadcast that this match would be moved to Night Two... World Heavyweight Championship (Cage Match): Doc Wyatt (c) vs Vic BaronRecap:The main event was a straight up sprint. Vic Baron wasted no time taking the fight right to the champ, cornering the ring and hitting shot after show. But this is, after all, Doc Wyatt- and perhaps no one in wrestling is harder to pry a belt away from. After surviving two Baron Slams, Doc found an opening to hit Black Gold, knocking Vic Baron out cold and that was that. Winner: AAAAND STILL World Heavyweight Champion, Doc Wyatt Rating: ***After the show… Lefty McDaniel briefly spoke to reporters. He mentioned a problem with the production truck as the reason for broadcast issues. He also addressed the ire of fans around the ending of the Super Mohan vs Tupac Machine match not airing. “We get fans are mad, trust me. We’ll work on it between now and next week and hopefully things will be sorted out. I have about a dozen drunk voicemails from David Harley so I know he’s pissed. We’ll sort all this out. Lefty also said the Tag Titles will main event Night Two...
Doc Wyatt took the podium after his successful title defense and had… a lot of things on his mind… STANDINGS:

Night Two is almost upon us, and with that the tournament starts to get a feel for who’s going to be contending in each block. After doing a fair amount of media damage control, Lefty McDaniel assured a group of reporters that the production issues that plagued night one have been resolved. Still, rumors persist that iWe/La Guerra owner David Harley remains outraged and has offered a “response” in the coming days... The action kicks off TOMORROW (7/21) at 5:30pm ON TWITCHNight Two Preview: A BlockJack Gold vs Trey TaylorJack Gold will be looking to turn his night one victory into a full blown winning streak against Trey Taylor, who gave Red Masterson all he could handle. This one could go either way, and should be a good opener to get the crowd fired up. Super Mohan vs Jimmy HawkinsBoth Mohan and Hawkins will look to avoid an 0-2 hole by shaking off a close loss last week. Expect this one to be fast paced and all action, with the potential for MotN honors getting doled out right here. Red Masterson vs Tupac MachineTwo popular picks to win the bracket both took care of business last week, and will try and secure what could be an important tie breaker win. Red will need to look sharper than last week if he wants to beat the veteran cruiser weight, while Tupac will need to avoid that monster lariat the big Texan is always looking to dole out. B BlockByron Worthy vs Markus WinterBoth part of of the same graduating training class, Byron Worthy and Markus Winter have had more than a couple battles in the ring over the years. This is likely to be a close physical match, with Markus looking to establish himself at the top of the table while Worthy tries to keep from digging a hole. Boss Ross Foreman vs Lefty McDanielLefty’s shocking upset was one of the (many) story lines from night one, and he’ll have to have a repeat performance if he wants to survive the clubbing style of Boss Ross Foreman. Boss Ross will look to bounce back from last weeks loss where he dominated most of the early match, and to do that he will have to avoid Lefty McDaniels dangerous “Left Handed Scissors” cutter... Rampage Hunter vs Brick CaseyBrick Casey and Rampage close out block action with what is sure to be a brutal slugfest. Rampage is very nearly in must win now mode, but he’ll have to go through Warrior Pro’s biggest obstical in order to do it. Both men know each other extremely well- Rampage was trained by Brick- so expect no surprises, other than maybe a cameo from Brick’s new tag team partner Logan Axlerod at ringside. Tag Team Championship: Music City Wrecking Crew (c) vs Gears of WarMoved from Night One, we’ll finally see old rivals renewed as the Wrecking Crew take on top contenders Gears of War for the first time outside Japan.

G2 2020: Night 2 Night Two proved to improve- but not fully resolve-the production issues that have become the running story of the early rounds. Regardless, the night was filled with exciting action and continued drama from the guest promotions. To view the show in its entirety, check out the replay here: For full recaps of all the matches plus the post show press conference, scroll on down... Jack Gold vs Trey Taylor Recap:A tightly contested back and forth opener against two of the better up and coming workers in wrestling today. Trey again seemed to put himself in positions to win, but couldn’t quite finish the job. Instead, Jack Gold found an opening for his top rope 24 Karat “Lotation” to become the early tournament surprise. Winner: Jack Gold Rating: ***Super Mohan vs Jimmy HawkinsRecap:There was no mystery to Super Mohan’s ending this week, but the La Guerra star once again turned in a dazzling performace without a victory. Both men kept the pace fast and traded high energy offense throughout the match, with a late Kill Switch looking to put Hawkins down for the count. But “Flyin” Jimmy kicked out, and superkicked his way to his first points of the tournament. Winner: Jimmy Hawkins Rating: ****Red Masterson vs Tupac MachineRecap:The last match of A block action was thick in drama. After an even back and forth opening, the broadcast cut out- and when it came back the notorious rudo group ZDM from La Guerra stormed the ring, creating a 3-1 advantage for Red Masterson. Tupac was overwhelmed but once the referee re-gained control of the match, The STRUGGLE star had recovered enough to sink in a deep armbar on Red outside the ring. Masterson, who has been fighting shoulder problems all year was in obvious pain, and didn’t meet the 10 count- giving Tupac another controversial win. Winner: Tupac Machine Rating: ****Byron Worthy vs Markus WinterRecap:Easily the match of the night, and one of the best Warrior Pro matches all year. A physical back and forth match, with both men getting razor thin near falls. In the end Worthy would hit a beautiful running spear to pick up the win. After the match, manager Triple J was seen loudly lecturing Markus as they walked to the back- Markus still clutching his ribs as they walked... Winner: Byron Worthy Rating: *****Boss Ross Foreman vs Lefty McDanielRecap:“Lanky” Lefty might be creating a reputation as giant killer in this tournament. Last week it was Rampage, this week Boss Ross. Like last week, Lefty spent most of the match absorbing punishment from the much larger man, before finding an opportunity to hit the Left Handed Scissors cutter- which shockingly knocked Boss out clean. After the match, Foreman was helped to the back by the ringside doctors, but reports from the locker room indicated they there was little concern his injury would jeopardize his participation going forward. Winner: Lefty McDaniel Rating: ***Rampage Hunter vs Brick Casey Recap:The last block action match was a good old fashion slug fest between two of Warrior Pro’s biggest wrestlers. Rampage seemed to have the early advantage, but perhaps Brick’s new association with Logan Axelrod has given him new life. The big vet shook off a spear and a Lights Out powerbomb to comeback and hit the Brick Wall for the win. The loss puts Rampage in a deep hole, threatening any chance the highly favored wrestler has at winning the B Block. Winner: Brick Casey Rating: ***Tag Team Championship: Music City Wrecking Crew (c) vs Gears of WarRecap:The main event of the night, which was originally suppose to be on Night One, was everything one would expect in a match between these two teams. Violent. The Wrecking Crew seemed to underestimate how prepared Gears of War would be, as evidenced by Riot rag dolling the Wrecking Crew out of the ring multiple times. A thunderous Doctor Bomb later, GoW was celebrating in the ring as a shell shocked Wrecking Crew laid confused on the mat. Winner: AAAAAND NEEEEEEW Tag Team Champions Gears of War Rating: ***After the show, several wrestlers were made available to the media … Gears of War, scheduled to talk to take questions in the press room, made a brief appearance with beers and the title belts in hand, circling the room chanting “SMASH! SMASH! SMASH! SMASH!” before exiting...Brick Casey was next with Logan Axlerod...Lefty McDaniel is next up...With that Lefty ends the press conference...STANDINGS:

We’re heading into the mid point of the tournament, where we begin to see separation between the contenders and the pretenders. This is the week where the bottom part of the bracket gets lopped off, and we start to understand who truly has a shot at the finals. All of this is back dropped by two outside promotions STRUGGLE and iWe/La Guerra, who seem to be planting the seeds of a promotion war right in the middle of what has already been a news worthy G2. The action kicks off THIS THURSDAY (7/28) at 5:30pm ON TWITCHNight Three Preview: A BlockSuper Mohan vs Jack GoldMohan has dazzled in the first two weeks of the tournament, but it unfortunately hasnt resulted in points on the board. He’ll get a shot to stay alive via a familiar opponent in Jack Gold. The last time these two met was in a Lucha POWER ring it was fireworks, and a Jack Gold victory. If “Perfection” Jack is able to repeat the results, he’ll be in the driver seat for a trip to the finals and effectively eliminate Super Mohan. A loss keeps the La Guerra lucha in the hunt and opens the door for Mohan’s new rival to claim sole ownership of the top spot. Jimmy Hawkins vs Red MastersonMasterson has seen a slate of quicker foes in this tournament, and the results have been mixed so far. With both Jack Gold and Tupac Machine sitting with two (and potentially three) wins, Red will need a win here to keep pace. Jimmy Hawkins faces the same dilemma, making this match an unofficial must win for both men. This match has the best odds to end up Match of the Night. Trey Taylor vs Tupac MachineTupac’s road forward looks murky, despite two early wins. With sources saying La Guerra owner David Harley again expects to bring… representation… to the building its probably safe to assume the STRUGGLE veteran will have another uphill battle on his hands. That could be good news for Trey Taylor who, despite being competitive in his first two matches, stands winless and on the brink of elimination. Expect a highly technical wrestling match between these two, and expect controversy before its all said and done. B BlockByron Worthy vs Boss Ross ForemanByron Worthy is coming off one of the best matches of his career and will face off against the dangerous Boss Ross Foreman. Foreman has struggled to finish matches, controlling both of his first two fights early before failing to close things out. That leaves him in a precarious situation, as “Showtime” will be looking to build off of last week’s stunning win over Markus Winter. Another win positions Worthy at the top of the bracket with an important tie breaker, while eliminating Boss Ross. A win for the current Big Gold Buckle holder would create a mess in the middle of the block where it could become a free for all. Rampage Hunter vs Markus WinterFew would have assumed that by week three, Rampage would be wrestling for his tournament life- and yet here we are. His opponent, Markus Winter, is the worst case scenario to get Rampage back on track. Winter’s loss to Worthy means he’ll need a win to keep pace with the top of the bracket, while a loss would send him towards the bottom with a couple of rough tie breakers. Desperation fuels the best matches, and this one could produce a classic. Brick Casey vs Lefty McDanielTwo shocking undefeated wrestlers face off for control over the whole block. Brick, who has looked closer to retirement than a title shot just a few weeks ago now looks like the man that in his 20’s was a World Champion. Meanwhile “Lanky” Lefty will look to three peat his Giant Killer status by taking down one of the biggest men to ever step into a Warrior Pro ring. This is easily the match with the greatest implications to the overall tournament.

THE FOLLOWING COMMENTS WERE RECORDED FOLLOWING NIGHT 2 OF THE G2 TOURNAMENT, BUT NOT RELEASED UNTIL TODAY, FOR.. UHHH... REASONS?TUPAC MACHINE: So that's how it's gonna be, huh? Which one of y'all called the shot anyway? Mohan? David Harley? That little-ass dude? Fuckin' Bonilla? Well, I just don't give a fuck. You couldn't beat me, so you send your boys after me? And then what happened? I'm 2-0 now, motherfucker, do the math! So they can't keep the lights on - What do you want me to do, wait politely? You gotta be smarter than that! I been on this shit since '96, kid, and I'm ten steps ahead of all y'all punks. Plan, plot, strategize, but bomb first. And if you can't figure that out, that ain't my fault. And Warrior Pro ain't my home promotion, but the West Side is my territory, and if you wanna see how deep the Machine can roll out here, just keep it up. You punks tried to take me out, but you couldn't finish. And now you're about to feel the wrath of a menace.

G2 2020: Night 3 Night Three proved to be the fulcrum to separate the pretenders from the contenders in each block. Almost half the field was eliminated, with the remaining matches set to be high intensity going forward... To view the show in its entirety, check out the replay here: For full recaps of all the matches plus the post show press conference, scroll on down... Super Mohan vs Jack Gold Recap:Super Mohan came out with extra protection for this one, flanked by members of ZDM against the undefeated Jack Gold. It didn’t prove to matter. Gold fought a smart match, avoiding the outside and preventing the personnel advantage to ever really come into play. The whole ordeal seemed to actually distract Mohan more than anything, and the La Guerra vet ended up getting nailed with a 24 Karat Lotation- effectively eliminating him from the tournament and keeping Jack Gold undefeated. Winner: Jack Gold Rating: ***Jimmy Hawkins vs Red Masterson Recap:A hellova back and forth match between two men trying to keep pace in the standings. Red came out more focused, but Jimmy Hawkins remained sharp, using his speed to avoid the big lariat and keeping the big cowboy off balance. Red definitely seemed to favor his shoulder- the same one that caused him to miss 4 months, and the same one Tupac wrenched so hard last week he couldn’t get back into the ring in time. Hurt shoulder or not, Jimmy Hawkins didn’t care- and a pair of thunderous superkicks kept him in the hunt for the block, while eliminating Red (due to tiebreaker rules). Winner: Jimmy Hawkins Rating: ****Trey Taylor vs Tupac Machine Recap:Sensing more shenanigans, Tupac brought with him this week an ally in Black Tiger Mask- a fellow member of B.A.R.S. The match started off as a good back and forth technical affair, with both men looking for submissions. Then all hell broke loose as Super Mohan and ZDM stormed the ring and but a beat down on Tupac, all while Black Tiger Mask seemed reluctant to get involved. But, similar to last week, Tupac survived the beating and fended off Trey’s attacks, eventually wearing him down before finally putting him away to remain undefeated and eliminate Trey. Winner: Tupac Machine Rating: *****Byron Worthy vs Boss Ross ForemanRecap:Byron picked up right where he left off last week, pushing the pace, taking his opponent off his feet and moving the match to the mat. Boss Ross, who has to be kicking himself for wasting opportunities the last two weeks, never really got a hold of this match- Byron wore him out till an opening presented itself to sink in the 1-3-1 trap submission for the win. With that, Worthy kept his name in the running while eliminating the TIPWF enforcer. Winner: Byron Worthy Rating: ***Rampage Hunter vs Markus Winter Recap:Maybe the best match of the tournament so far, potentially the best match of the year so far… didn’t have an ending to the live audience (though the full match can be viewed on the linked VOD up top). Both men needed a win to avoid elimination, and both men fought with desperation. This match was all offense and no defense, as both sides tried to absorb the others big move and come back with something bigger. One would think this would traditionally give Rampage the advantage, but this G2 just hasn't been good to him, and after surviving everything The Last Viking could throw at him, two straight Spine Bombs proved too much. The result unceremoniously eliminated many peoples pick to win the entire tournament, while Markus kept pace with a top heavy block. One thing of note was a curious sequence where Triple J leaped to the apron to distract the official… for Markus Winter’s pin. The distraction created a moment of confusion between manager and client that seemed to resolve itself by the end of the match- but for the second week in a row both men were deep in conversation as they exited the ring. Winner: Markus Winter Rating: *****Brick Casey vs Lefty McDaniel Recap:The main event saw a match up of unlikely undefeated wrestlers as Lefty McDaniel tried once again to take down another giant foe. The results were much different this time however, as Brick Casey, who appears to have jumped into a time machine, never presented the opening Lefty needed to nail his deadly cutter. Instead, Brick used his superior size to wear down and eventually finish off his opponent with a thunderous standing clothesline. Winner: Brick Casey Rating: ***After the show, as the media was waiting for wrestling interviews a super heated Rampage Hunter stormed out and trashed the podium, smashing tables and throwing chairs. A small army of security came out to restore order, and it seemed Rampage might take on all of them before Brick Casey- a former mentor- walked out and seemed to talk him down. With all the madness, it was then announced that the press conference would be canceled for the week.STANDINGS:

THE FOLLOWING COMMENTS WERE RECORDED... I DUNNO, AT SOME TIME OR ANOTHER, WHO KNOWS (the camera fades in on the three members of B.A.R.S. as TUPAC MACHINE and BLACK PANTHER MASK argue, seemingly unaware that they're being recorded, and JUNIOR GRIM just stands by, quietly fidgeting) TUPAC MACHINE: Come on, man! When somebody's gettin' jumped like that, you can't just stand there! BLACK PANTHER MASK: What? I didn't want you to get disqualified! PAC: Disqualified!? Did they disqualify Taylor!? Or Masterton!? BPM: MasterSON. The Man's name is Red Masterson. JUNIOR GRIM: (quietly) Camera.
PAC: Does it matter!? I mean shit, there were three of those (N-word deleted)s last time! BPM: Well, you handled it; you still won the match. And for the last time, STOP. SAYING. THAT. WORD. My brother, shit like that is what has been holding us down for over 400 years! JUNIOR: (quietly) Camera's on.
PAC: Oh come on, this shit again. Dammit, Panther, I'm old. I've been sayin' that word since the 80s. Asking me to change my entire goddamn speech patterns, you young-ass motherfuckers...
BPM: And you should stop, is what I'm saying. In a revolution, how can we fight for change, if we can't change our own- JUNIOR: Y'ALL! THE CAMERA. IS. ON. (TUPAC MACHINE and BLACK PANTHER MASK freeze and look directly into the lens for a beat, before trying to look natural and get into Wrestling Promo Mode) PAC: Three-and-O! One step closer to winning the G2! Undefeated! Untouchable! My last two matches, I beat seven people! JUNIOR: Well, technically, it was five people, as ZDM ran in each time, meaning they comprised four out of five total men interfering in the match. Also, not get into semantics, but when you say "beat" seven people, only two were actually- PAC: (pinching the bridge of his nose and shaking his head) Junior, I swear to God... (sighs)
JUNIOR: Sorry. PAC: Anyway... The point is, they've thrown more at me than anyone can handle, and I've handled it! (passive-aggressively glancing toward BPM) And I haven't even needed any help. (BPM kind of looks down sadly) But think about what's gonna happen when I actually get some! (BPM looks back up and puffs his chest out) So you keep sending whoever you wanna send, Harley. Cause see this? (he motions toward BPM and JUNIOR) This is the fuckin' squad! B.A.R.S. is three stone-cold killers and counting, and by the time I finish teaching these two everything I know, they're gonna be un-fuckin-stoppable! So like I said, keep sendin' em out there, Harley, you motherfucker. Send the whole damn roster, I don't care! And this goes out to all y'all! I don't care who it is! Any of you La Guerra motherfuckers, anybody from Warrior Pro, anybody from back home in STRUGGLE, anybody anywhere! The goal is in sight, and we can't be stopped! So come on! Jackson Hole Outlaws? Fuck 'em! ZDM? Already dealt with 'em! Think Tank? Ran outta town, 'cause they knew what was up! Evil Administration? Fuck them, too! The Prez got his ass whipped by that other Machine, and his boy Fang is duckin' me, puttin' shame on that title belt that I made! Who else? The Russians? Fuck 'em! Humble Ministries? Fuck 'em! Jezebel-Gun? F- JUNIOR: Oh hey, that's my sister's little group. PAC: Really? Well.... Um... Okay, you guys are cool. I guess. But everybody else is on notice! B.A.R.S. is the muthafuckin' crew, and our run starts when I run the table on the G2! CAMERA OPERATOR: Aaaand, cut. Okay, that was great, Mister Machine, thanks. PAC: Okay, cool, but... You're gonna erase that first part, right? CAMERA: Yes, of course. (fade to black)

With the G2 temporarily shifting to the weekend for at least this week, we get one more week closer to finding out who will come out on top in each block. With 2 weeks left and half the field eliminated, this week should narrow down the field to the final short list of contenders heading into next weeks Block finale. As it stands now, Block A is currently a two man race between Tupac Machine and Jack Gold, with Jimmy Hawkins needing some help to claw into the picture. Wins by both Gold and Tupac set up a winner take all match next week. A Flyin Jimmy win over Tupac keeps him alive and creates a web of tie breaker conversations that we’ll save for next week. B Block is less straight forward, with four of the six wrestlers still having a shot at the block. All of that is worthless though if Brick beats Markus Winter- a win that would secure the veteran’s trip to the Finals. If Markus wins, he and Brick will join the winner of Byron vs Lefty next week to determine who claims the B Block. The action kicks off at a special time THIS SUNDAY (8/7) at 8am PT ON TWITCHNight Four Preview: A BlockTupac Machine (STRUGGLE) vs Jimmy HawkinsUnder normal circumstances this would be a match to get excited about- two wrestlers from different generations and stylistic backgrounds fighting for a shot at the tournament lead… except this has not been a normal G2. Tupac’s rivalry with Super Mohan/La Guerra has brought chaos to his matches, though it has yet to cost him any results. The brash young rising star would love to change that, though time will tell who gets past Warrior Pro’s lazy ring security and what impact it ends up having on the match itself. Jack Gold (Lucha POWER) vs Red MastersonMasterson’s loss last week means he can only play the spoiler this week against the red hot “Perfection” Jack Gold. Red would seem to have the advantage on paper, but this tournament has appeared to ilustrate two weaknesses in the big Texan- his shoulder definitely isnt fully healed, and smaller, quicker wrestlers give him problems. If Gold can continue his streak he’ll sit one win away from glory, while a loss would be a moral victory for the black hat. Super Mohan (La Guerra) vs Trey TaylorThis one is all for pride, as both men have put on entertaining matches with frustrating results. Mohan especially has been involved in some of the best matches of the tournament, but one has to wonder if his feud with Tupac has distracted him in the ring. Regardless, this should be a hard fought and entertaining match that will give one of these men an well deserved win. B BlockRampage Hunter vs Boss Ross ForemanB Block kicks off where A Block ended- with two winless wrestlers trying to save some pride. Rampage especially has shown a level of frustration in this tournament we have yet to see from the typically cool headed former champ. We’ll see how that translates in the ring, as he faces Boss Ross- a man that should conceivably be 2-1 and at the top of the bracket. But The Foreman’s late match strategy has been a curious one, resulting in not putting opponents away and leaving the door open for comebacks that ultimately cost him. Expect a short, heavy hitting affair for this, with a high potential for a knockout. Byron Worthy vs Lefty McDanielBoth Lefty and Byron still have a puncher’s chance, but they’re going to need some help to get there. The winner will need Brick Casey to lose out his remaining matches in order to have a shot. But this matchup right here will have to be the immediate concern- since both men have been wrestling at an extremely high level so far. Lefty’s early wins were a bit of a shock given his growing age and low activity over the last year, while Worthy’s success seems to be the next step in a talented young prospect. Lefty has done well this tournament against bigger opponents where he has a quickness advantage, but he wont have that against “Showtime.” If he can keep some distance and use his length he might have a shot, but if this match goes to the ground, its Worthy’s match to lose. Brick Casey vs Markus WinterThis is our first “Block Clincher” match of the tournament. If Brick wins, he would wrap up the Block a week early and be one step closer to a title shot at Warriorversary. Meanwhile Markus Winter sat one win away from the finals last year, and one would have to think manager Triple J is going to have The Last Viking mentally ready to avoid a similar fate this year. Is winter really coming? Or will Brick close the door on the next generation of stars for one last run at glory? Only one way to find out...

G2 2020: Night 4 Another newsworthy show for a G2 that is beginning to come into focus as we head into the home stretch of the tournament. We again saw tomfoolery, some shocking finishes, and an interesting press conference that may lead to a blockbuster match down the road. To view the show in its entirety, check out the replay here: For full recaps of all the matches plus the post show press conference, scroll on down… Tupac Machine vs Jimmy Hawkins Recap:Tupac controlled the early parts of the match with everything we’d come to expect- good technical wrestling that focused on beating up the arms to set up the submission. Except this deep into the tournament the game plan wasn’t a surprise, and Jimmy Hawkins seemed ready for it- avoiding the most dangerous spots and striking from distance, setting up for the patented Hawk Splash… ...when we again were met with interference… except this time it wasn’t from ZDM- or anyone from La Guerra for that matter. In fact, it was STRUGGLE’s own Evil Administration who charged the ring, broke up the pin fall, and forced the ref to ring the bell- awarding the match to Jimmy Hawkins. Laughing, President Evil then ordered both men beaten down before security ran them off. Winner: Jimmy Hawkins Rating: ***Jack Gold vs Red Masterson Recap:With a Tupac loss, Jack Gold was under no pressure to win this match- win or lose he’d still need a win next week to win the block- and it showed. That lack of focus was evident throughout, with Red Masterson controlling the fight and pressing the offense. Tossed outside and seemingly tired of getting beat up, Gold simply decided to call it a day and took the loss, refusing to go back into the ring. Winner: Red Masterson Rating: ***Super Mohan vs Trey Taylor Recap:Two hard luck wrestlers squared off for pride, hoping to salvage a disappointing tournament with a solid win. Except the wrestling world had other plans… after a competitive back and forth start, the Evil Admins returned to the ring and again showed neither wrestler any favor, choosing to go after both men, bloodying up Super Mohan and setting him up for yet another uphill battle. But Mohan met the challenge- as the intruders were wrangled to the back, Mohan put together his best string of offense all tournament. But his pin falls kept being within reach of the ropes, and an out of gas Mohan then left an opening for Trey Taylor to sink in the submission for a hard fought win. If anyone was wondering exactly where was ZDM this week? Well… the answer would be laid out in the locker room, with a note pinned stapled to the chest of each rudo “EVIL ALWAYS WINS… CHUMPS” so, obviously this isnt over yet... Winner: Trey Taylor Rating: ****Rampage Hunter vs Boss Ross Foreman Recap:This was just a straight forward hoss throwdown. Two very large people throwing haymakers and trying to toss the other man through the ring. The strategy seemed to be how long both men could go till one of them just couldn’t get up. A big time spear by Rampage answered the question, at least for one night- giving him his first win of the tournament. Winner: Rampage Hunter Rating: ***Byron Worthy vs Lefty McDaniel Recap:With both men fighting to stay alive in the block, the story of this one was (besides Byron Worthy’s new spiffy goggles) how well Lefty McDaniel survived on the mat against the former NCAA champion. More than once Worthy took the match down to the ground and Lefty stayed calm, and worked his way back to his feet. It seemed for a while that Worthy’s aggressiveness would prove the difference… and it did do that, but not in his favor. He left himself open to a Left Handed Scissors, and it was lights out. Winner: Lefty McDaniel Rating: ****Brick Casey vs Markus WinterRecap:Lefty’s Block winning dreams didn’t survive the night- as Brick Casey continued his runaway tournament by completely stuffing Markus Winter’s offense and giving him a one sided beating we haven’t seen the rising star ever take. In fact, at one point Brick decided to abandon the match all together to pick a fight with Triple J, who was loudly mocking the big man from ringside. Didnt matter. When Winter threw Brick into the ref and Triple J came into the ring with a weapon, still didn’t matter. Two thunderous Brick Wall choke slams later, Brick Casey booked his ticket to the G2 Finals a week early, and remained undefeated. After the match, Triple J lit into Markus, screaming at him before giving him a hard slap across the face and storming out of the ring. Winner: Brick Casey Rating: ***After the show, due to last week’s outburst there was no formal press conference, but Lefty McDaniel was available to the media, along with B Block winner Brick Casey...Doc Wyatt meanwhile took to social media to react to the Evil Administration’s appearance at the G2...STANDINGS:
