WRESTLING NEWS ROUNDUP With the usual mini-hiatus in between the G2 and Warriorversary in effect, it has been a slow news cycle as of late. That changed late last week when a promotional poster for Warriorversary leaked, showing a date of July 29th for the big event. While no matches have been announced outside of the main event, there are several matches heavily rumored to be made official in the coming weeks... Rumored: "Lanky" Lefty McDaniel vs Senator Steve Philips Warrior Pro Tag Team Championship: Grim Reapers (c) vs Red Masterson and Cowboy Johnston Lucha POWER Championship: Doc Wyatt (c) vs Pantero Negro Jr
Confirmed:
Warrior Pro World Heavyweight Championship: John Logan (c) vs Machine Gun Mayhem
It is also expected that Tank McDaniel will be wrestling on the show in some capacity, and one has to assume Rampage vs Big Bird Machine II is at least being negotiated. --------------------------------------------------------------- Warrior Pro announced earlier today a new interview style show will debut next week called, The Bullpen. The show will be hosted by Roger "Humm Baby" Craig and feature top stars answering questions and cutting promos. While there is no word on the cadence of the show, sources seem to think this will likely air at least before every big show going forward. The lineup for the premiere? Heavyweight Champ John Logan, Tag Team Champs the Grim Reapers, Rampage Hunter, and an interview with Lefty McDaniel. --------------------------------------------------------------- And finally, word is Markus Winter is still suffering from Vic Baron's attack at the post show press conference of the G2 Finals. No word on a recovering time frame or any disciplinary action from Warrior Pro management. Lefty McDaniel is rumored to be addressing the situation in his interview next week.

Intro music plays and the host of The Bullpen, Roger Craig, walks out and waves at the small studio crowd. The "studio" is actually just the press room at Gorilla Hall, repurposed for this production with an unseen crowd in folding chairs behind the camera.Lefty walks on camera wearing a Warriorversary promotional tshirt. He smiles and gives a quick wave to the audience before settling in next to Roger Craig.Lefty walks off stage as Roger Craig looks on confused and a little rattled. Following a small break at the conclusion of the Golden Gate Tournament, Warrior Pro Wrestling returns this week with its first Warrior Grounds in almost 3 months. With Warriorversary only a couple weeks out, this will serve as the go home show for the biggest event of the year- and one with an ever growing list of high profile matches. Earlier this week, Senator Steve Philips officially accepted Lefty McDaniel's challenge to a match:
Card preview for Warrior Grounds #26, coming to you this Friday from Gorilla Hall: Vic Baron vs Dude SpringfieldDude will be making his Warrior Pro debut against the former world champ who we last saw viciously attack Markus Winter at the G2 Finals. Not much is known about the newcomer, with no recorded matches or clear bio- but he's going to have his hands full. Sources say Vic plans on addressing his G2 actions at some point on the show. Jackson Hole Outlaws vs Los TerriblesThe first of two high profile tag team matches booked for the show, this should be a preview to the semi-main event of Warriorversary, with Doc's crew facing off against Lucha POWER's top contender Pantero Negro and his cousin Lobo Muerte. But word is out that Doc will not be a part of the match, preferring to send out Roy Carter and Byron Worthy instead to hopefully wear down the popular rudo before their G2 rematch that saw Pantero pin the champ. Regardless, this should be an exciting matchup showcasing one of the top lucha tag teams vs two men that teamed for the better part of a year as top contenders for the Warrior Pro Tag titles. John Logan/Brad Kuelman (iWe) vs Machine Gun Mayhem/Tocapelotas (La Guerra)The main event should be a special cross promotional treat, but not without it's backstage drama. John Logan's participation will go against his Golden Touch contract that states he only fights for Warrior Pro when it is for the World Title. Sources say Midas Mathews attempted to get this match nixed but as of this writing has been unable to do so. No word on what- if any- ramifications this may have on the Warriorversary main event. Regardless, his teaming with iWe legend Brad Kuelman- for the first time ever- should be enough to get Gorilla Hall rocking. They face a bit of an odd couple in Machine Gun Mayhem and Tocapelotas, who have strangely become allies since their match during the G2 Blocks. Who wins this star studded matchup is anyone's guess, but it should prove to be a nice primer for the July 29th super show.

Warrior Grounds #26 Coming to you LIVE from Gorilla Hall in San Jose California its WARRIOR GROUNDS #26! Before any of the action could kick off, a surprise guest came walking to the ring- none other than Lucha POWER owner and legendary luchador, EL MACHOBoth men square off in the ring before Tank offers a hand shake. Macho, looking down at the gesture smiles and walks out as Tank continues to look puzzled Vic Baron vs Dude SpringfieldRecap:This one went about how you'd assume. The Duder hung around for a bit but Vic never seemed interested in making this match anything but a squash, trouncing the newcomer and finishing him off with a Crossface Killa. Winner: Vic Baron Rating: ** After the match, Vic Baron tossed Dude out of the ring and demanded a microphone.Jackson Hole Outlaws vs Los TerriblesRecap:Doc had already made it known that he was not going to participate in the match, but has the Outlaws started to make their way to the ring, Doc stopped, and motioned that Byron Worthy and Roy Carter go out alone- with the Lucha POWER and IC champ walking to the back egging on the fan's boos all the way. The match was an exciting one with the Lucha POWER rudos keeping the pace high and avoiding the ground game that both Outlaws would prefer. It seemed like an upset might be in the cards before a wild finish that saw both Los Terribles hit their finishers on the Outlaws simultaneously to pick up the victory. Winner: Los Terribles Rating: **** After the match, Los Terribles continued their assault on the Outlaws, before Doc Wyatt ran in from the back with a chair to make the save. The rudos cleared out on Doc's arrival, laughing and Pantero pointing at Doc and making a belt motion with his hands, referring to their match in two weeks.
However, once Los Terribles were in the back, all hell broke loose. Doc took the chair and turned on his stablemates- cracking both over the head with brutal chair shots before grabbing a mic to talk over their lifeless bodies as the crowd rains down boos...John Logan and Brad Kuelman vs Machine Gun Mayhem and TocapelotasRecap:An entertaining main event that saw both the main event of Warriorversary square off, as well as two of iWe's biggest stars. The match almost had the feel of an exhibition than a grudge, with Toca more interested in entertaining the fans and Machine Gun distracted by his partner. In the end though, the match ended somewhat abruptly, with Machine Gun fighting two on one inside the ring while Toca- the legal man- sat outside talking to fans while getting counted out. Winner: John Logan and Brad Kuelman Rating: After the match both Logan and Kuelman celebrated to the back while Machine Gun pleaded with the ref screaming "It can't be a countout, HE'S NOT REAL- HE'S NOT REAL!!!" before trashing the ringside on his way to the back while Toca signed autographs, oblivious that the match ended. The updated card for WARRIORVERSARY III- JULY 29th on TWITCH! Confirmed CardTank McDaniel vs El Macho Vic "The Technician" Baron vs "The Last Viking" Markus Winter "Lanky" Lefty McDaniel vs Senator Steve Phillips Warrior Pro Tag Team Championship: Grim Reapers (c) vs Red Masterson and Cowboy Johnston (TIPWF) Lucha POWER Championship: Doc Wyatt (c) vs Pantero Negro Jr Warrior Pro World Heavyweight Championship: John Logan (c) vs Machine Gun Mayhem Heavily Rumored MatchRampage Hunter vs Big Bird Machine (STRUGGLE)

Its been a quiet week for Warrior Pro Wrestling leading into next week's huge anniversary show a little less than a week away, but that wasn't the original plan. Multiple sources have confirmed that a press conference was suppose to be held this week with the co-main event stars taking questions and promoting the show. That all unraveled on Monday when Midas Mathews, irked that John Logan agreed to main event Warrior Grounds against his wishes. Logan, who is contracted to Midas' Golden Touch Promotions, is only obligated to appear on Warrior Pro events where the heavyweight title is involved, and is exclusive to Midas' approval for all other events. There has obviously been a rift between both men for a while now, but main eventing a house show with no title implications appears to be the last straw. With Logan pulled, the rest of the press conference unraveled. El Macho pulled Lucha POWER's top contender Pantero Negro claiming the show should be co-promoted with Lucha POWER if "the true main event" was his companies title. Doc Wyatt refused to attend if his opponent wasn't attending and he was left interacting with Machine Gun Mayhem. Machine Gun, who never confirms public appearances anyway, had not comment on the situation. In light of that mess, Warrior Pro Wrestling and Golden Touch Promotions are giving The Monitor exclusive access to John Logan and MGM for sit down interviews next week leading up to the big fight. Stay tuned for what should be two very interesting conversations. In other news: While still heavily rumored to be happening, Big Bird Machine vs Rampage Hunter has yet to be formally accepted by STRUGGLE PRO. Given all the chaos in the company its not a huge surprise, but that didn't stop Rampage from taking to Twitter to poke the bear one last time: The reason Lefty McDaniel never addressed the Vic Baron attack on Markus Winter during his Bullpen interview was at Markus Winter's request. The Last Viking insisted Vic not be punished so he could have his match at Warriroversary, which is why we saw things play out the way they did at Warrior Grounds. Rumor is Tank was against this plan and the precedent it created. Finally, rumors are swirling after it was noted that several women wrestlers were seen coming in and out of the Warrior Pro training facility last week- most notably Della Wyatt, the older half sister of Doc Wyatt and a living legend in Japan. Tank has openly talked about adding a women's division for a few years now but this might be the first real indication that we may see this sooner rather than later. WARRIORVERSARY III comes to you LIVE THURSDAY JULY 29th on TWITCH! Confirmed CardTank McDaniel vs El Macho Vic "The Technician" Baron vs "The Last Viking" Markus Winter "Lanky" Lefty McDaniel vs Senator Steve Phillips Warrior Pro Tag Team Championship: Grim Reapers (c) vs Red Masterson and Cowboy Johnston (TIPWF) Lucha POWER Championship: Doc Wyatt (c) vs Pantero Negro Jr Warrior Pro World Heavyweight Championship: John Logan (c) vs Machine Gun Mayhem Still Heavily Rumored MatchRampage Hunter vs Big Bird Machine (STRUGGLE)

With Warriorversary a little over 24 hours away, there was some major backstage drama that threatened the main event of Warrior Pro's biggest show of the year. After originally agreeing to allow World Heavyweight Champ John Logan a sit town interview with The Monitor, Midas Mathews reneged on the agreement, siting "a continuous breach of contract." Rumors seem to point to the promotion was allowing Senator Philips a spot on the card as the main sticking point. With
Logan's interview canceled, the champ released this statement: As for Machine Gun, the interview was scheduled to be at his home- but the top challenger listed his residence as "Deep in the darkest light" and his phone number as "I hear everything." While interesting answers, they limited the Monitor's options and so that interview was also called off. In other news: Senator Philips had words surrounding his upcoming match with Lefty McDaniel:Byron Worthy- who will face Hoss Hang Harcourt Hadley Jr. at Lariats and Legislators Night One- had his first public comments since the Outlaw fallout from Warrior Grounds #26: WARRIORVERSARY III is LIVE TOMORROW NIGHT at 5:30pm PT.Card Preview: Tank McDaniel vs El Macho (Lucha POWER)Two true legends of the sport who haven't squared off one on one in the ring in roughly 20 years. Tank and Macho have had some classic matches in Mexico in the late 90's/early 2000's- but given the age of both men, this could be the final time these two meet in a one on one match. Expect both men to leave it all out there in an attempt to turn back the clock and steal the show. For as stacked a card as this is, this could be the match people remember. Vic "The Technician" Baron vs "The Last Viking" Markus WinterWhatever is going on with Vic Baron one thing is clear- he isn't buying the Markus Winter hype. Winter finished his second G2 tournament one win short of the Finals, but it may have been an upset win during block action that truly flipped Vic's switch. He viciously attacked Winter at the Finals Show, and called out the rising star until this match was set. This rematch could give the winner a path to the next title shot, but the question is whether it will fully squash this bitter feud. Rampage Hunter vs Big Bird Machine (STRUGGLE)Last year's Warriorversary was suppose to be a slugfest between the future and past, a legend vs the "Next Big Thing". Instead, Big Bird Machine proved that he was anything but and decisively won the contest. Immediately afterwards though, STRUGGLE Pro drama spilled into Warrior Pro's locker room as President Evil attacked BBM, and left him for dead. Rampage would prove the sport by siding with his former opponent at War Party, helping to secure victory and ensure a rematch. Rampage is looking toe reclaim his place as a world beater and former champ, and a win here could put him right back into the World Title picture. A win for Big Bird Machine would continue the legends return to form and may also be an additional middle finger in the face of his long time rival back home. "Lanky" Lefty McDaniel vs Senator Steve Phillips (The Office)The second of two high profile rematches, Lefty and Senator square off in a match for bragging rights. Lefty scored a shocking upset when the two met during Phillips retirement tour last year, but since his return Senator has been a different wrestler. More aggressive, and with a new arsenal of moves the hall of famer has been impressive in making his rounds within The Office promotions. Can he get his win back on one of the biggest stages? Or will Lefty catch the former politician in yet another Left Handed Scissors... Warrior Pro Tag Team Championship: Grim Reapers (c) vs Red Masterson and Cowboy Johnston (TIPWF)The first of three title matches kicks off with what should be a straight brawl. Red and Cowboy are undefeated as a pairing and recently scored a final measure of revenge in beating the Jackson Hole Outlaws at the G2 Finals, what would end up being the infamous groups last PPV match before imploding. Now they set their sites on the tag team belts, and with it the longest reigning champions in the companies history. The duel champs (they also own the STRUGGLE Pro belts) have looked unbeatable all year and are looking to notch another Warriorversary victory. Expect a war, with both sides licking wounds before all is said and done. Lucha POWER Championship: Doc Wyatt (c) vs Pantero Negro Jr (Lucha POWER)Doc Wyatt won the Lucha POWER belt back in February at Lucha Fantastico, and has been running his mouth per usual ever since. His first defense will come against Pantero Negro- a man that beat Doc in the G2 tournament this year in one of the contenders for match of the tournament. Doc will be without his usual backup given all the drama surrounding the Outlaws imploding, so we'll see if Pantero can make it two for two- or if Doc does Doc things to retain yet another championship belt. Warrior Pro World Heavyweight Championship: John Logan (c) vs Machine Gun MayhemDespite all the recent drama, one thing is for certain- this match will be epic. The champ has owned the challenger in the past, going undefeated in all Warrior Pro matches against MGM, but Machine Gun has been fighting on a different level as of late. He ran through the G2 tournament- his second consecutive tournament win- and his sole loss in the past year has been to, you guessed it, John Logan. Logan meanwhile has held the belt for the better part of the year, with his one hiccup coming in the form of an epic five star cage match with Young Blood- a match he avenged with furry a month later. There are no secrets in this match, not special strategy. Just two high powered engines looking to collide as fast and as brutal as possible. Warriorversary is sure to end on a high note.

Warriorversary is in the books, and the biggest show of the year delivered in spades. Every match on the card delivered, and the promotion seems like it has multiple paths forward. As always, scroll down for all the matches, recaps and post show interviews… Vic "The Technician" Baron vs "The Last Viking" Markus WinterRecap:A banger of an opener, with both men leaving it all in the ring trying to put the other in the ground. Markus continues to look like someone who could lead the company some day... but that day isnt now. Vic Baron took a Winterfell right in the middle of the ring but shook it off, and sunk in a deep Crossface Killa to earn the victory. Winner: Vic Baron Rating: ****After the match, Vic immediately went after a chair and started wailing on Winter, getting in several hard shots in before Ivar and Warrior Pro security raced to the ring to peal Baron off. The look on Baron's face was unlike anything we've see before from the former champ, and Markus needed to be stretchered out after the attack..."Lanky" Lefty McDaniel vs Senator Steve Phillips (The Office)Recap:This was not the same Senator we last saw in a Warrior Pro ring. Maybe it was the time off and his more aggressive approach since coming back. Maybe it was his double booking. But Phillips came to the ring and was all business. Lefty, seemingly trying to put on more of a show, took to the air over and over- but it never seemed to effect the former Office Chairman, who made short work of the Warrior Pro President with back to back Filibusters for the impressive win Winner: Senator Phillips Rating: ***Tank McDaniel vs El Macho (Lucha POWER)Recap:There's a very good argument here that this was the match of the night. Two living legends with storied careers spanning multiple decades brushed off the dust and turned back the clock one more time for a thrilling match. Both pulled out all the stops, hitting everything in their arsenal that saw at one point a rapid fire exchange of near falls. In the end Tank his what would be his second Tank Driver in the middle of the ring to pick up the victory. Winner: Tank McDaniel Rating: *****After the match, with the crowd giving both men a standing ovation, Tank went to raise Macho's hand in a sign of respect, but the Lucha POWER owner pulled back and exited the ring quickly as Tank looked on with a confused lookRampage Hunter vs Big Bird Machine (STRUGGLE)Recap:The highly anticipated rematch of last year's Warriorversary delivered an exciting back and forth match. BBM took control early and seemed to be dictating the pace, with Rampage unable to really get anything started. The match turned when Rampage hit a spear out of nowhere, with the contest turning into a trade of match ending finishers. A LIGHTS OUT for a 2 count, a One Winged Canary for a 2.9, then another LIGHTS OUT to give Rampage the win and even up the rivalry between these two legends. Winner: Rampage Hunter Rating: ****After the match, Big Bird Machine laid on the mat motionless for several minutes, seemingly knocked out from the second LIGHTS OUT powerbomb. Eventually the big man was able to get up and walk gingerly to the back with the assistance of medical personnel. Warrior Pro Tag Team Championship: Grim Reapers (c) vs Red Masterson and Cowboy Johnston (TIPWF)Recap:For the second straight show, the Reapers stole the show with an epic tag team title match. This was the brawl everyone expected, with both sides throwing everything at each other. Both Cowboy and Red looked in top form and it appeared for a time that they might pull off an upset- but the teamwork of the Reapers proved too much to overcome, and Tyson Heyward choked out Masterson to retain the belts. Winner: Grim Reapers Rating: *****Lucha POWER Championship: Doc Wyatt (c) vs Pantero Negro Jr (Lucha POWER)Recap:It's official, Los Terribles are Doc Wyatt's kryptonite. This one went very much like their G2 block matchup- a very close back and forth match with Doc pulling out all the dirty tricks and Pantero not letting any of them cost him the match. When Doc ran out of tricks, Pantero nailed him with a Slingblade to win back his belt almost a year after losing it. Winner: AAAAAND NEEEEW CHAMPION Pantero Negro Jr. Rating: ****Warrior Pro World Heavyweight Championship: John Logan (c) vs Machine Gun MayhemRecap:Its been a long and strange yeah and a half journey for Machine Gun and John Logan, but the results have been pretty much the same. Machine Gun was relentless to start the match, ragdolling Logan around the ring and looking every part of what he displayed in his undefeated run to the G2 title. But this is a different John Logan, and he did fold- not when MGM brutally powerbombed him into the mat, not when Toca double teamed him and brutalized him with ringside weapons. Instead this John Logan kept fighting, and eventually hit his patent Logan's Run in the middle of the ring to defend his World Title and once again defeat Machine Gun Mayhem. Winner: John Logan Rating: ****After the show, Tank gave a brief update on a few injuries- though there wasn't a whole lot of information on them. Both Markus Winter and Big Bird Machine were taken to a local hospital, Winter for an injured shoulder as a part of his post match beat down, BBM for a potential concussion. Tank stated that Vic Baron was likely looking at a suspension for the post match attack, and that an official announcement would be forthcoming. There was no formal post show press conference, but a couple wrestlers game statements to the press... Rampage Hunter John Logan
