Coming on the heels of a their massive anniversary show, there is tons of chatter happening around Warrior Pro Wrestling right now. Here are the biggest stories being discussed: Warrior Pro’s Brick (real name Otto Casey)- who missed a scheduled appearance at last Friday’s Wacker Drive Revival show last week, quietly had shoulder surgery on Monday as a result of the post-match armbar delivered by former tag team partner Roy Carter. While we don’t know the nature of the injury, sources indicate the injury may keep him out 3-6 months. Its official, John Logan vs Doc Wyatt for the championship will headline Warrior Pro’s as yet to be announced August show. The match is expected to be no DQ and in a cage. One has to assume this would be a blow off match, and could be Logan's last shot at the belt for the foreseeable future. The recent success of Rampage Hunter winning the iWe Intercontinental championship has convinced Tank McDaniel that the promotion is ready to have its own secondary singles title. Rumor is the initial champion will be crowned via a single elimination 16-man tournament. While nothing is confirmed, it is believed that the tournament will be held later this summer and include wrestlers from outside the company. Wonderland was spotted back in LA at his dojo, the first time people have seen him since he ditched his position as head trainer of Warrior Pro. The company has been silent on Wondy’s status with the company, though sources say the issue will be addressed at the next Warrior Pro taping, tentatively schedule to be in a couple of weeks. And finally, Jimmy Hawkins contract with AAW quietly expired over the weekend. While he may still be taking dates with the company, a return to Warrior Pro Wrestling seems inevitable…

Its fight week, and this Friday starts the build to the first show post Warriorversary: DOOMSDAY. Warrior Grounds #12 will feature a main event rematch of one of the biggest upsets of the year, plus the tournament to decide who will face off to be the number one contender for the tag team gold. Tank McDaniel will also be on hand to address the crowd regarding the latest around Wonderland. Tune back here on Friday, August 16th for all the matches, recaps, and reviews of Warrior Grounds #12 Match Previews: The Reed Brothers vs The MassholesOur first match to determine who will go on to DOOMSDAY to determine the number one contender pits the Reed Brothers against Warrior Pro’s resident drunkards. Maverick Reed is coming off of a runner up finish in the 49th Parallel and will try to use that momentum to kick start a tag team that has under performed so far. The Massholes have been holed up in a Vegas lounge for the past couple months, though Tommy did briefly sneak out for a match in Chicago to fight, of all people, Colossus Rhodes Mr. Moonsault. The Reeds should be favored but who knows what to expect from their lamppost fighting opponents. Gears of War vs The Gold StandardGoW’s run as champs was shockingly short after taking down the reigning champs just ahead of Warriorversary. They’ll look to get back on track by facing a pair of Wonderland Dojo disciples that will be out to prove something. This one should be hard hitting and could be a sneaky pick for Match of the Night. Rampage Hunter vs Byron “Prime Time” WorthyWhat was supposed to be a tune up fight a few months ago turned into the upset of the year as Young Gun trainee Byron Worthy pulled off a shocking upset over the former Heavyweight Champ Rampage Hunter. Now a full-fledged roster member and aligned to the Wonderland Dojo, Worthy will get a chance to prove that the first win wasn’t a fluke. For Rampage, he’ll try and shake off a disappointing run as iWe Intercontinental Champion with a win that could get him back in the hunt for more.

Earlier today a video appeared on iWe’s website completely replacing the front page before being taken down with no reference to it. The video has since been circulated around the internet. We advise that the imagery is graphic in nature…The video opens with a black screen, before Machine Gun Mayhem walks into frame, the camera zoomed in on his face, bleeding profusely from a serious cut over his forehead.

Warrior Grounds #12 The show kicks off with Warrior Pro Wrestling owner Tank McDaniel walking to the ring to a steady stream of cheers. As he gets into the ring a microphone is handed to him...The Reed Brothers vs The MassholesRecap:The Massholes looked surprisingly sober and ready to do battle, but the Reeds controlled this match most of the way. There was a brief moment where it looked like a double team from the Boston superfans might lead to an upset, but Maverick- who has been on fire lately- quickly snuffed it out and finished off the match with a running knee. Winner: The Reed Brothers Rating: ***Gears of War vs The Gold StandardRecap:Interesting to note that Gold and Classic were introduced as “Wonderland Dojo” instead of their typical tag team name, with Gold even ripping up a Baron Family sign on his way to the ring. This match was a hard hitting affair that saw both teams looking to end early. A thunderous chokeslam from Riot seemed to spell the end but a late save from Stan Classic, and a rollup from Jack Gold on Bobby Clash gave Gold Standard the surprising upset victory. After the match both members of Gold Standard put the boots to GoW and then continued to go after Baron Family signage… Winner: The Gold Standard Rating: ****Rampage Hunter vs Byron “Prime Time” WorthyRecap:Similar to the last match, Byron Worthy came out with Stan Classic and they were announced as part of Wonderland Dojo. The match itself picked up where the first confrontation between these two left off. Worthy displayed impressive strength that seemed to neutralize Rampage’s power in a way that few wrestlers are able to do. But Rampage seemed better prepared this time around and eventually all it took was one Lights Out powerbomb to seal the deal. Winner: Rampage Hunter Rating: ***After the match, as the winner was celebrating his victory a man jumped the rail and entered the ring…

Once again, its fight week, and Warrior Pro Wrestling brings you their first show since celebrating their one-year anniversary. The show will feature grudge matches from top to bottom, a Heavyweight Championship fight that will end an epic months long feud, and includes the in ring return of “Flyin” Jimmy Hawkins. DOOMSDAY will air LIVE on Twitch at 6pm PT THIS WEDNESDAY“Flyin” Jimmy Hawkins vs Trey TaylorHawkins made his return from AAW an eventful one when he superkicked Rampage Hunter after his match at Warrior Grounds. The brash young flier seems intent to carry over the momentum he had from a long Intercontinental Championship reign in the Jersey promotion, but Trey Taylor is no slouch- and the rookie would love an upset victory on one of the biggest stages of his career. Tank McDaniel vs Austin BaronTank and Austin have had a complicated relationship over the past 6 months. Tank siding with Wonderland, and even replacing Austin with the enigmatic dojo owner, caused a rift between the two long time friends. But the two are ready to put aside differences and move on… after a match that will pit two of the biggest stars of the past against each other in a match that has never happened in either man’s long career. Warrior Pro Tag Team #1 Contender: The Gold Standard vs The Reed BrothersBoth teams won their match at Warrior Grounds to lead this ”Anything Goes” Match: Machine Gun Mayhem vs ObnoxioComing off of an oddly clean match at Warriorversary, both men seek a bloody second chance. The match has no specific title or rule set, other than there are no rules (this point was insisted on by both sides). Expect buckets of blood and carnage… we think- its always hard to tell with these two… Warrior Pro Tag Team #1 Contender: The Gold Standard vs The Reed BrothersBoth teams won their match at Warrior Grounds to lead to this match. The winner will get the next shot at The Barons for tag team gold. The Reeds- specifically Maverick- have been red hot as of late, and may be starting to reach the potential fans have been waiting for since they were signed to the promotion. Meanwhile Jack Gold and Stan Classic are looking to keep playing the spoiler, after upsetting GoW they’ll aim to put the Reeds on ice and set up a tense grudge match with Austin and Vic, two guys at the heart of the Wonderland Dojo feud… Warrior Pro Heavyweight Championship (In A CAGE): “Gentleman” Doc Wyatt (c) vs John LoganThe climactic finale to this bitter rivalry. Doc Wyatt won the last matchup via brass knuckles, and now John Logan will get one last shot at the championship that has eluded him his entire career. This one will have no DQ and will be fought inside a steel cage. Both men have made it clear they intend to leave everything in the ring, shaping this one up to be a potential all timer.

Doomsday turned out to be a wildly unpredictable, brutal show that left for some shocking moments and a crowded training room by the end of the night. Scroll down for full matches, recaps, and a very interesting post show press conference…. “Flyin” Jimmy Hawkins vs Trey TaylorRecap:Hawkins was impressive in his return match to Warrior Pro, and Trey Taylor showed why people in the back have high hopes for the rookie, but the real story of the match was Rampage Hunter- who came out to level some revenge on Hawkins for laying him out at the end of Warrior Grounds #12. But Hawkins avoided Rampages attack for the most part and stayed focused enough to earn his first Warrior Pro victory in almost a year. Winner: Jimmy Hawkins Rating: *****Tank McDaniel vs Austin BaronRecap:This match was visual proof that father time is a motherfucker. Both men, legends in their heyday, came out wanting to turn back the clock and put on a classic- but as the match wore on fatigue seemed to kill the momentum. But while time can rob you of speed, power declines slower and a second Tank Driver left Austin Baron out cold and motionless. He was stretchered to the back as a concerned Tank followed. Winner: Tank McDaniel Rating: ***Machine Gun Mayhem ObnoxioRecap:A vicious, brutal matchup that played out how most people assumed the first encounter would go. Both men were bleeding profusely as weapons, barbed wire, and exploding boards were used religiously the whole match. In the end, it was a Spine Bomb from Obnoxio that landed the back of Machine Gun’s head on a sledgehammer with a sickening sound that would secure the victory. For the second time tonight, a stretcher was needed to get a wrestler to the back, though this time Obnoxio did not seem worried, and in fact laughed hysterically until Machine Gun was all the way out of the ring. Winner: Obnoxio Rating: ****Warrior Pro Tag Team #1 Contender: The Gold Standard vs The Reed BrothersRecap:A wild and action-packed match that saw both teams go right after each other. The X factor the entire match looked to be Stan Classic, who’s bruising style seemed to rattle the Reed brothers as he tossed the smaller duo around the ring the whole match. Eventually a thunderous powerbomb to Rip Reed put an end to their title hopes and put the Barons/Wonderland Dojo feud front and center going forward… Winner: Gold Standard Rating: ****Warrior Pro Heavyweight Championship (In A CAGE): “Gentleman” Doc Wyatt (c) vs John LoganRecap:What was built up as a dramatic conclusion to a storied rivalry fell completely flat in the ring. Both men came out firing and Logan seemed to look strong early, but something seemed off and he eventually stalled out offensively as Doc started to pour it on. The champ seemed to smell blood and quickly went for the kill with a Black Gold cutter that put Logan out in shockingly short order… Winner: AND STIIIILL Champion, Doc Wyatt Rating: **Reporters gathered separately around both main eventers in the back as they gave their thoughts on the match… Doc Wyatt, with teammate Roy Carter sprayed champagne in front of reporters…John Logan sits alone in the corner of the locker room still in full ring gear, two big bags of ice on both knees as he speaks to reporters:The injury report coming out of the show:Austin Baron was treated for a major concussion following his match and his status going forward is unknown. Baron, who has had neck issues in the past that required surgery, was taken to a local hospital where tests showed no damage. Warrior Pro officials gave no word on what this might mean for the Tag Team champions… Machine Gun Mayhem once again eluded medical attention and disappeared from the arena, though he did leave an “IOU” with the training staff indicating he owed them “an injured wrestler to be paid in the near future.” And finally, in a rather shocking announcement, Warrior Pro revealed that John Logan was to have surgery tomorrow to repair damage in both knees. Few details were given on the extent of the damage but sources say Logan has been wrestling for months with a torn meniscus in one knee and bone spurs in the other. There was no official time frame for recovery given but expectations are he is likely out for the remainder of the year.
