The road to Badlands starts this Friday at Warrior Grounds #10, where contenders for both titles will be determined, and a Young Gun rookie makes his debut against a former champion. In addition to the card, the entire Jackson Hole Gang are expected to be in attendance and address the audience following their sweep of Warrior Pro championships. As always, a full recap of the show will be posted on Friday, including full matches, angles and promos. Match Preview: Rampage Hunter vs “Young Gun” Byron Worthy Worthy will make his Warrior Pro debut, and he’ll have a tall order facing off against the former champ in his first match since dropping the title at Lucha POWER’s Supershow. Expect this one to be an extremely physical match-up, as the former NFL lineman will need to deal with the Olympic alternates elite amateur wrestling. On paper this should be a good tune up fight for Rampage, but if he isn’t focused an upset isn’t outside the realm of possibility from the student already dubbed “Prime Time”. #1 Contender Match: Gold Standard vs Reed BrothersThe Gold Standard’s debut in Mexico was impressive, and now they return for their first stateside match against the athletic high-flying Reed Brothers. A win for either team sets up a showdown with the inaugural tag team champions, and would help establish the new and growing tag team division. #1 Contender Match: Yoshi Tayaki vs “Lanky” Lefty McDaniel (No DQ)This one is more than a little personal. After Lanky Lefty’s war with Pantero Negro at New Dawn, Yoshi Tayaki brutally beat down the veteran, crying out for respect in his new promotion. Tayaki has continued to voice what he feels is an unfair shake since being traded from AAW- directing all his rage at the nephew of the Warrior Pro owner. Now he gets what he wants, a shot at the title- but he’ll have to get through Lanky Lefty, who has promised a bloodbath on his way to a long-awaited rematch with Doc Wyatt.

BREAKING NEWS: Vic Baron ArrestedLast night, Vic Baron was arrested on charges of aggravated assault when he attacked Machine Gun Mayhem at an autograph signing session. The incident occurred when Vic, who after finishing a presser returned to his signing both to find Machine Gun, wearing a Baron Wrestling School t-shirt, signing Vic Baron photographs for fans with Vic Baron’s own name. Reports have it that Baron became furious and attacked Machine Gun, who didn’t fight back but yelled over and over again, “YOU’RE NOT REAL!” Thankfully no fans were hurt, and Machine Gun traveled to the police station later that night to not only drop the charges but post Baron’s bail (rumors that he also brought flowers could not be confirmed). Warrior Pro Wrestling has yet to release a statement on the matter, though sources say this incident is unlikely to effect the upcoming match at Badlands. Those same sources indicate Vic, who was already scheduled to make an appearance at Warrior Grounds tomorrow celebrating his March Madness Tournament win, is expected to address the incident directly. Other Rumors making their way around the world of pro wrestling: Midas Mathews linked to Luhca POWER?The head of Golden Touch Promotions was in attendance at the Lucha POWER Supershow earlier this month, which set off a swirl of rumors that he could be the mystery investor in the promotion. Midas has hardly kept it a secret his penchant for wanting to acquire and consolidate wrestling promotions in the area, and Mexico is an area The Office has yet to officially stake a claim in. Calls to Midas’ office were not returned… Wonderland in San JoseWonderland, owner of the famed Wonderland Dojo, is expected to be in attendance for Warrior Grounds #10 tomorrow. Wondy has been rumored to have taken an invested interest in Jack Gold, even brokering the pairing of him and Stan Classic. While Wondy and Warrior Pro owner Tank McDaniel are said to be on good terms, Training Grounds head trainer Austin Baron is rumored to be bristling with the idea that talent is going outside to train. This is probably something to keep an eye on… Rampage welcomes i.W.e. to Warrior GroundsRampage Hunter called into a local radio station earlier this morning to address comments made by Dirk van Oranje at a local i.W.e. house show:

Warrior Grounds #10 is in the books, and our card for Badlands is now much clearer, with number one contenders established for both the Heavyweight and Tag Team belts. As always, scroll below for all the matches, promos and angles… Before the first match all three members of the Jackson Hole Gang walk down to the ring, sporting their Warrior Pro Championship belts…(all three men raise their titles in the air, do a group hug and then head to the back)The camera cuts to Dirk van Oranje as he takes his front row seat…Rampage Hunter vs “Young Gun” Byron Worthy Recap:]Maybe it was Dirk’s presence that distracted Rampage, maybe it was the after effects of losing his title, or maybe it’s just that Byron Worthy is a scary prospect. But whatever the reason, Rampage did not look himself- and the young rookie took advantage, controlling the match and never really letting Rampage get rolling. Time after time Rampage tried to set Worthy up for his finishes and each time “Prime Time” was able to get away. In the end it was Rampage getting caught for the shocking upset. Winner: Byron Worthy Match: ****After the match, as Worthy celebrates on his way out of the ring, Rampage slowly gets up and makes eye contact with Dirk in the crowd, who is having himself a very hearty laugh. Rampage calls out Dirk and invites him into the ring. Dirk slowly gets up and smiling, jumps the barricade and gets into the ring. Both men go nose to nose and start jawing, when Rampage turns to grab a microphone. (Just as Rampage turns away toward the crowd, Dirk throws a punch that staggers Rampage, then follows up with a nasty kick that floors the big man, again starts chuckling to himself, then turns and walks out of the building)#1 Contender Match: Gold Standard vs Reed BrothersRecap:With rumors swirling that Wonderland was in the building to watch the Gold Standard, his team did not disappoint. Despite a very impressive showing from the Reeds, the Wondy Dojo proved to be too much for the young high flyers. A lot of back and forth in this one ended with Jack Gold hitting the 24 Karat senton from the top rope to claim victory and a shot at the title. Winner: Gold Standard Match: ***Vic Baron makes his way to the ring, and grabs a mic…#1 Contender Match: Yoshi Tayaki vs Lefty McDaniel (No DQ)Recap: Maybe the most brutal match in the history of Warrior Pro Wrestling. Lanky Lefty was busted up early, but fought back- throwing everything he could at the hardcore expert. Its just that none of it was enough, and but the end the Warrior Pro vet was soaked in his own blood, and a frog splash from Yoshi Tayaki put him away for good. Winner: Yoshi Tayaki Match: *****After the match, Yoshi gets on the mic and screams at the fans in Japanese, before throwing the mic and leaving the ring.No one was made available to the press after the show…

A set of conflicting messages The Senatorial Office has engaged in a working relationship with Warrior Pro as of late, with talent from both organizations crossing over and promotional deals being hammered out. Both groups have been on excellent terms with both sides obviously benefiting. However, the turmoil in the Office between Senator Steve Phillips and Morgan "Midas" Matthews has now spilled over into Warrior Pro, as evidenced by these two public messages: --- A message from the desk of Morgan Matthews to Virgil Wyatt Please understand that your son's unbecoming demonstration of ambition is not in any way assisting his cause. There is a plan, and he will play an instrumental role in it. But this will only be the case, if he is able to exercise the proper degree of patience that I require from him. If he continues to push for the Johnston title match in the public, I will not support his endeavor. Please make this abundantly clear. Morgan Matthews --- Senator Steve Phillips's public message to Warrior Pro management SPOILER: Click to hide Senator Steve Phillips: The mutual arrangement between Warrior Pro and my Senatorial Office has been well worthwhile. The more our organizations cooperate, the more we all benefit. It has come to my attention that in the near future, Warrior Pro will be hosting a prestigious tournament by the title of G2. As such, I wish to offer the services of one Salvador Sosa for the competition. Mr. Sosa is an exemplary athlete, a charismatic figure and is popular both inside the ring and outside, with his notable Rudo Army Podcast. I ask that you consider him for the G2, and I believe that his participation will be of great benefit to Warrior Pro, to the Office, to Mr. Sosa and to the great fans we both wish to satisfy. Senator: It is also noted that Midas Matthews has heavily involved himself in the dealings of Warrior Pro. While he is free to do so, I wish to remind all relevant individuals that he does not speak for the Office as a whole, and should he attempt to void the entry of Mr. Sosa, that you should promptly ignore his unreasonable request. Thank you for your business and for your attention. Steve Phillips, Senator (I-IL)

A video was posted on WPW.com last night. Standing in the middle of the ring inside the empty Pioneer Hall, Jack Gold and Stan Classic are seen chatting with each other, when a voice calls out from somewhere in the audience area... (Voice): Hello boys! Gold: Who is that? Classic: Ohhh Shit! (Wonderland emerges from the shadows to appear at ringside, a big smile on his face. He jumps up to the apron and gets into the ring)Wondy: (big long sniff) MmmMMmmM, smells like Warrior Pro. But I imagined it would look... bigger, for some reason. Classic: You usually do (Wondy flashes a smile at Stan)Gold: I heard you were in the stands for our last match, pretty PERFECT right? Wondy: (patting Jack Gold on the back in pun-approval) Verrry good. But yes, you two going for tag team GOLD (pausing to wink at both men) next week against those Finger In the Hole Gang goobers would be a major win not only for the two of you, but the Wonderland Dojo as a whole. And as a hole. A finger-free hole ba'gawd! Classic: Gonna stick around and see the match? Wondy: (in his best Macho Man impression) OoOoOoooOoo yyEeAaAaHh Classic: You gonna put some pants on? Wondy: Never.

THE POWER OF PERSUASION: Dirk van Oranje
*The scene is a dark, dingy, smoke-filled boxing gym. Dirk van Oranje stands before a gently swaying punching bag, battering it with a flurry of feet. Nearby, his manager Horst van Ginkel sits on a folding chair with a pouch of Drum shag tobacco, hand-rolling a cigarette, which he completes in seconds with amazing ease. He’s already got a burning one dangling from his lips. There’s an orange spot on the right side of his thick paintbrush mustache just above that stogey, and this stain stands as a testament to his fondness for rollies. In his lap sits a cellphone that seems to be receiving a flurry of text messages, and he quietly keeps a close eye on it. Horst tucks the first cigarette behind his ear, at the spot where his strange mullet-like haircut transitions from bangs straight across his forehead to a long unruly mane in the back. As he starts rolling a second cigarette, he speaks in Dirk’s general direction.*
HORST: So you’re really going to refuse Rampage Hunter’s challenge? I had a call this morning from some Warrior Pro representatives, and they assured me that the compensation would be quite generous. I think you should reconsider. Besides, you’ve been telling people that you’re looking for a greater challenge.
*Dirk stops striking the bag and turns to Horst.*
DIRK: And that’s precisely why I have no interest in fighting this buffoon Rampage Hunter. What challenge would there be for me in that?
*Dirk resumes pummeling the punching bag.*
HORST: I guess it would be pretty… embarrassing if you were to lose to Rampage now, after all the trash you’ve talked.
*Dirk stops abruptly again, kicking the bag one final time with such force that the earsplitting snap of his boot striking the leather echos through the empty gym for several seconds. He turns back to Horst, suddenly seething.*
DIRK: Pardon? Did I hear that correctly? Did you just say 'if' I were to lose to Rampage? ‘IF’?!
*Horst takes a long, thoughtful draw from his cigarette and nods. Dirk turns and hits the punching bag with a spinning crescent kick so powerful that it threatens to bring the ceiling down onto them.*
DIRK: There is a precisely zero-percent chance that I would ever lose to a nutteloos smeerlap like Rampage Hunter. None whatsoever. And you know this!
*Horst blows out an enormous cloud of smoke. Through it, he shrugs at Dirk with a wry smile ever so subtly touching his lips. Dirk wacks the punching bag with a mighty uraken*
DIRK: So you’re saying you think he can beat me. ARE YOU SERIOUSLY TRYING TO TELL ME THAT YOU THINK THIS STOMME KLOOTZAK RAMPAGE HUNTER CAN BEAT ME?
*Horst silently hits the cigarette again. Dirk bicycle kicks the punching bag so hard one of the chains holding it up snaps, and it sags to the side at an awkward angle.*
DIRK: WELL I’LL SHOW YOU, YOU GODVERDOMDE LUL. KRIJG DE TERING. I AM GOING TO FIGHT RAMPAGE HUNTER AND I AM GOING TO KICK HIM STRAIGHT IN HIS LELIJK KOP AND WIN THE MATCH HANDILY, YOU WALGELIJK VIEZERIK.
HORST: With your i.W.e. Intercontinental title on the line?
DIRK: WITH THE I.W.E. INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE AAN DE LIJN!
HORST: You might as well get in on this G2 Tournament that Warrior Pro’s hosting too, while you’re at it.
DIRK: YEAH SURE WHATEVER JUST GET IT BOOKED, HORST, YOU STINKENDE PAARDEREET.
*Dirk storms out of the room to hit the showers and Horst sits back in his chair, smiling broadly. He takes the nub of a cigarette burning the ends of his mustache and flicks it away, then pulls the other cigarette out from behind his ear and lights it, taking a long satisfied drag. Then Horst picks his cellphone up from his lap and pounds out a text message. TOLD YOU I COULD BRING HIM AROUND. GO AHEAD AND BOOK THE MATCH.*

Warrior Pro Wrestling Presents: BADLANDS Thursday April 4th @5:30pm PST
One of the biggest cards in the History of Warrior Pro Wresting kicks off in just a few short days, and there are major implications for every match. Three championships are on the line, including for the first time ever, a belt outside of Warrior Pro will be defended on a Warrior Pro show. Also on tap, two young guns fight for a spot in the G2 tournament, and a bitter grudge match gets decided inside a steel cage… All of this can be seen LIVE on Twitch THIS Thursday at 5:30pm PST.Card Preview: Markus Winter vs Byron Worthy (for a spot in the G2 Tournament)Markus Winter was a final 4 participant in the Star of the Jar tournament. Byron Worthy just knocked off a former World Champion. Both could cement themselves as “The Next Big Thing” if they can secure a spot in the Golden Gate tournament and give a good showing. Expect these two rookies to hold nothing back. i.W.e. Intercontinental Championship: Rampage Hunter vs Dirk van OranjeRampage has had a bad month. After losing his title in Mexico he came back to the States and was shocked by a hungry rookie trying to make a name for himself. On top of that, he was mocked openly by an outsider. That outsider? He happens to be the i.W.e. Intercontinental Champion- a distinction that he has held for over 250 days. Will Dirk notch another victim on hi belt? Or will i.W.e. have a new champion from a rival company? This match very well could steal the show... Warrior Pro Tag Championship: Jackson Hole Gang vs Gold Standard (w/Wonderland)Brick and Roy Carter grant their first title defense to a relatively new team to Warrior Pro. Jack Gold, after a training stint in the Wonderland Dojo, re-appeared with Stan Classic to form what has proven to be a very impressive tag team. And to add some… er… flavor to the match, Wonderland himself has decided to manage the team for their match, which is sure to irritate Austin Baron- who has not been keen on a rival wrestling school training the talent. “The Technician” Vic Baron vs Machine Gun Mayhem (no DQ cage match)This match… has layers. Machine Gun has taken an exceptional interest in Vic Baron over the last few months, with public messages, bizarre videos, and even an alleged kidnapping. The fact that Vic actually beat MGM has only intensified that obsession, and may have finally broken Vic when he was arrested a few weeks back for assaulting Machine Gun in public. This one promises to be bloody and vicious, and could very well be career impacting for both men. Warrior Pro Championship: Doc Wyatt vs Yoshi TayakiDoc Wyatt is the most decorated wrestler in Warrior Pro Wrestling, but he may not be prepared for who he is about to face. Yoshi Tayaki has been a monster since joining Warrior Pro, tearing through everyone that he has faced in brutal fashion. While this match is under standard rules, Tayaki has promised to make Doc bleed. Will we see a new champion? Or will “The Gentleman” of Warrior Pro continue to cement his legacy?

Badlands proved to be a brutal show with high stakes and a collection of matches that went all out. The show featured some newer members of the roster, and they took advantage of the opportunity. The top of the card was littered with drama. Sp much so that it spilled into the post show press proceedings- which could have larger ramifications down the line… Scroll down for all the matches, recaps and promos from a wild night of action… Preshow (for a spot in the 49th Parallel Tournament) Austin Baron vs Maverick ReedRecap:With a spot in one of the most prestigious tournaments in all of wrestling on the line, both Maverick and Austin put on a show. Neither held anything back, exchanging finishers and kickouts. In the end, it was a second Crash Landing (Tower Hacker Bomb) that did in the wily veteran. Winner: Maverick Reed Match: ****Markus Winter vs Danny Angelo (for a spot in the G2 Tournament)Recap: Both rookies were looking to make a name for themselves, and both went a long way towards doing just that. Worthy seemed to control the match early, but never seemed to be able to do enough damage to finish Winter. And the self labeled Viking took advantage of any opening he could squeeze out hitting a Winter is Coming early, sinking in the Lion Tamer, and finally getting the pinfall with a Northern Lights Bomb. Winner: Markus Winter Match: ****iWe Intercontinental Championship: Rampage Hunter vs Dirk van OranjeRecap:What started as a simple outsider heckling a match turned into a bitter feud, one that produced arguably the match of the night. Rampage controlled early, and it looked like his raw strength would prevent the Dutchman from finding his striking range. But as the match wore on those vicious knees and kicks from the Dirk added up, and eventually Rampage couldnt come back from the repeated shots. Winner: And still champion Dirk van Oranje Match: **** Warrior Pro Tag Team Championship: Jackson Hole Outlaws vs Gold StandardRecap: The story surrounding this fight was the presence of Wonderland, and the disruption it seemed to be having within the Warrior Pro locker room. This did not play out during the match, where Wondy stayed in his corner, coaching but never interfering. The result also was without controversy- despite a valiant effort from the challengers, the champs were never in trouble and eventually a vicious buckle bomb from Brick to Jack Gold was enough for the champs to retain. Winner: And still champion, Jackson Hole Outlaws Match: ***“The Technician” Vic Baron vs Machine Gun Mayhem (no DQ cage match)Recap:A feud that has been building for months was finally paid off in the ring. Machine Gun was busted open early and Vic Baron was soon to follow. This match was brutal and bloody, with the mat covered in blood once this one was over. Both men continuously traded and reversed submissions, determined to make the other quit or pass out. In the end, it was Baron repeatedly dropping Machine Gun on his head, then bridging a suplex for the pin fall. A match of the year candidate right here. Winner: Vic Baron Match: *****After the match both men were taken out of the ring in stretchers and taken immediately to the hospital...Warrior Pro Championship: Doc Wyatt vs Yoshi TayakiRecap:Yoshi promised to make Doc bleed, and bleed he did- almost immediately. The AAW veteran treated this match like a deathmatch, brawling outside and reaching for weapons. It seemed like this one might go the way of his match with Lanky Lefty, but the ever cagey Wyatt reversed an irish whip into a spinebuster- then followed up with a devastating Superman Punch that Tayaki never saw for the successful title defense. Winner: And STILL champion Doc Wyatt Match: ***After the show, status was given around Vic Baron and Machine Gun Mayhem...Warrior Pro officials announced that Vic Baron received 14 stitches in his forehead, but did not endure any serious injuries. Machine Gun mysteriously never made it to the hospital and his whereabouts are currently unknown... Doc Wyatt and the rest of the Jackson Hole Outlaws were surrounded by a group of reporters as they celebrated with their championship belts. Doc is bandaged up from his match, and decides to speak on a number of topics, including one that’s been a bit of a delicate subject….
