Warrior Pro Wrestling is proud to announce the 3rd annual G2: Golden Gate Tournament. The G2 is what launched Warrior Pro and continues to be a place where stars are made, rivalries are born, and the next contender for the World Heavyweight Champion is determined.

The rules are the same as last year: twelve of the hottest stars both inside and outside the promotion will compete in 2 blocks, round robin style, to determine who will compete in the main event of the Finals to earn a shot at Vic Baron’s belt at Warriorversary II. A win will earn 2 points, a draw 1 point. The top point totals from each block will move on to the finals, with tie breakers determined via who won the head to head matchup.

There’s an added bonus too. For the first time ever, every match of the G2 tournament will be streamed LIVE on TWITCH. That’s right, all the block action will be live, with post show press conferences being posted the day after along with full match recaps. The schedule for this year’s tournament is as follows:

Round 1: Thursday June 4th @5pm PT
Round 2: Thursday June 11th @5pm PT
Round 3: Thursday June 18th @5pm PT
Round 4: Thursday June 25th @5pm PT
Round 5: Thursday July 2nd @5pm PT

Finals: Thursday July 9th @5pm PT

The blocks will be announced later this week, with Thursday revealing Block A, and Friday Block B.

In anticipation of next week’s kickoff to this years G2 Tournament, Warrior Pro Wrestling announces this year’s A Block.

Machine Gun Mayhem
A devastating powerhouse who is looking to shrug off two high profile losses to John Logan, Machine Gun enters his second G2 tournament. A heavy favorite to win the inaugural tournament in 2018, Machine Gun’s lack of focus could derail him again this time around. But if he’s able to stay on point, it could be a rough go for the rest of the field.

Markus Winter
The current Warrior Pro Intercontinental Champion has been red hot, sporting an undefeated streak dating back to November of last year and includes wins over Roy Carter, Jimmy Hawkins, and Rampage Hunter. Winter proved a fiesty underdog in last years tournament but expectations will be high as The Viking Warrior looks to pass his next test.

Kenta Aoki (Dragon Fire Japan)
Aoki, one of the bright stars of Dragon Fire Japan, will wrestle stateside for the first time, trying to make a name for himself and prove that he is one of the world best and brightest. His match against rival Japanese promotion’s top star GPC should be circled as a potential MotY contender.

G.P. Christopher (Lightning Pro)
The current Victorious Medal holder makes his first appearance in a Warrior Pro ring and brings a list of victories unmatched by the rest of the field. The cocky young stud will have a target on his back, but its going to take potentially more than one upset to keep GPC from claiming the block.

Red Masterson
Warrior Pro’s resident cowboy and number 1 contender for the Intercontinental Championship is out to prove that he’s more than just Doc Wyatt’s muscle. With relatively few matches on his resume he’s seeming a wild card that very well could shock the world and finish at the top of the standings.

CJ Fresh (SHTCWA)
For the second straight year, the G2 will have Super Hyper Turbo representation, this year inviting one of its top stars to compete. CJ has not had an active year with the promotion on hiatus, but make no mistake- The Freshest will need to be taken seriously. Be on the lookout for his matches against long time rival GPC and a potential new rival Kenta Aoki…

With A Block announced yesterday today we reveal the B Block for this year’s G2 Tournament. While A Block consists of mostly first time participants and rising stars, B Block is stacked with tournament veterans as well as current and former world champions. Perhaps of greatest note is that John Logan and Doc Wyatt, the finalists two years running, will be competing in the same block this year- guaranteeing a new finals matchup.

John Logan
Last year’s tournament winner has had a rough go since he defeated Doc Wyatt, losing three title opportunities. But despite his struggles to claim a world title- Logan has been a killer the G2 Tournament. He undefeated in Block action two years running, and his sole loss was in the finals of the 2018 tournament finals. The path to the Finals will go through Logan, but with the rest of the field as strong as it is, one has to wonder if a third straight finals appearance is realistic.

Rampage Hunter
Over the past year one could make the argument that Rampage has been the hottest wrestler in the country, winning three titles from three different promotions including the PCP World title. One has to wonder if the busy schedule is catching up with him though. He was shocked by Markus Winter in dropping the IC title at QUARANTINE, and his currently participating in the Battle of Mobile Bay. If he’s able to juggle the load, he is the only one in the Block with convincing wins over Doc, Logan, Hawkins, and Big Bama Ray- the Belt Collector could very well add a tournament win to his collection.

Doc Wyatt
The most successful G2 participant this side of John Logan, Doc Wyatt has worked his way into the finals for the last two years despite his block record remaining just north of .500. The leader of the Jackson Hole Outlaws will no doubt be looking for a third trip, and a shot to reclaim the Warrior Pro World Title he lost back in November 2019. He’ll have a tough road, having to work through Rampage and John Logan- plus first time match-ups with outsiders Max Mosley and Big Bama Ray. But if there's a way to weasel his way to the top, you have to assume Doc Wyatt will find it.

Jimmy Hawkins
The ugly duckling of this block, and maybe of the tournament as a hole. He went without a win in the 2018 tournament, and outside a brief run as AAW Intercontinental Champion, has struggled to find consistent success. That said, Hawkins is still just 25 years old, and has had matches taking the likes of John Logan, Vic Baron, and Robino- all established top of the food chain vets- to the brink. Hawkins has yet to live up to his “future star” potential, but a run of wins here could change that narrative quickly.

Max Mosley (iWe)
One of the top stars in iWe will make his debut in the G2 as a relative unknown. The former iWe Intercontinental Champion has not been active as of late, but is an experienced technician that could prove a difficult out for anyone in the block. He’ll be looking to do what Dirk van Oranje couldn’t- win the block and claim a shot at the Warrior Pro World Heavyweight Championship.

Big Bama Ray (PCP)

Bama is well known to Warrior Pro fans for his 5 star matches with Rampage Hunter, but the big man from PCP is a force and a legit threat to take the entire block. He, like Max Mosley, will have the element of surprise on his side as we’ll see first time match-ups between him and virtually the entire field. But more importantly, we’ll get to see Bama Ray vs Rampage one more time- which could be the highlight of the B Block action. A win over Rampage could also send ripple effects down the rest of the block standings, where every win will be crucial to see who is able to climb out of this buzzsaw.

After a two week delay, the 2020 G2 Tournament will officially kick off this week with Night One action taking place this Thursday @5:30pm PT LIVE on TWITCH!

The updated schedule will be as follows:

Round 1: Thursday June 18th @5:30pm PT
Round 2: Thursday June 25th @5:30pm PT
Round 3: Thursday July 2nd @5:30pm PT
Round 4: Thursday July 9th @5:30pm PT
Round 5: Thursday July 16th @5:30pm PT

Finals: Thursday July 23rd @5:30pm PT

Ahead of the inaugural night, a refresher on the rules of the tournament. The G2 is a standard league tournament with two blocks that will participate in round robin matches. Two points are awarded for a win, one point for a draw, and zero points for a loss. The wrestler with the most points in each block will face off in the finals, with the winner getting a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship at Warriorversary this August. In the event that there is a tie in one of the blocks, the winner of their head to head match-up will advance.

With the unexpected delay to the kickoff of this years G2, several wrestlers spent the break posting thoughts on their expectations heading into this week…

John Logan

I hear the whispers. Hes done. He’ll never win the big one. He’s destined to always come up second. I hear all of it. And maybe they’re right. Or, maybe, they’re in for a rude fucking awakening. This tournament is my house. My undefeated house. And I have no plans to let anyone walk into my house and take whats mine. That belt that Vic Baron is wearing? I’m taking it from him before this year is over, even if I have to step over six other bodies to get my shot at it.

Doc Wyatt

2020 has not been the best year for a lot of reasons. But its pretty easy to see the genesis of the madness. Doc Wyatt had his belt essentially stolen from him, and the world literally crumbled. So, as the humanitarian I am, I’ll save all of you. I will do what I do every year- win B block. Then I’ll beat whatever loser comes out of the other side- and make no mistake not a single person in that block has any shot- and take back what was stolen from me. 2020 will be saved, you can all thank me later.

Rampage Hunter

Been over a year since Rampage was king of this hill. Over a year since he beat both Doc Wyatt and John Logan. Since then Rampage, he been traveling the country and beatin everything that moves. He been carryin around so many belts, Rampage had to hire a dude just to carry some of them for him. But now? Only one belt matter to Rampage. And if that means he gotta tear apart John Logan, Doc Wyatt, Big Bamma, Little Jimmy and a dude named Max to do it? Rampage gonna Rampage. Shit man, he gonna Rampage for sure.

Markus Winter

Ha HA!! The gods have smiled down on me this year. The glory of victory! A new trophy around my waist! And now, I see what Odin would have me do next. To conquer the evil in front of me. To bath in their blood and let victory wash me clean. This week, I enter the ultimate battlefield and I will not leave till I am bathed in victory.

Red Masterson

Machine Gun Mayhem

The utter darkness that plagues this company has become more than I can take. Everywhere I look is pitch black. New, Young Blood, is needed to rescue everyone from their deep pitch black slumber. I am hear to be that savior. I will rescue you all, by destroying everything. The end is the beginning, the darkness will rise to the light, and Machine Gun Mayhem will ensure that order is brought back to the infinite chaos.

After a two week delay, the G2 Tournament finally kicks off TONIGHT at 5:30 PT on TWITCH. For the first time ever, the entire tournament will be broadcast live- and Night One should be a proper kickoff to a month of big time matchups.

Here is a quick rundown of the card for tonight...

BLOCK A

Kenta Aoki (Dragon Fire) vs G.P. Christopher (Lightning Pro)
Two of the fastest rising talents in Japan will kick off the tournament with a bang. GPC, who signed on for the tournament under the agreement that he would open every show, will take on a highly motivated Aoki. Both men will be making their Warrior Pro debut, and with both garnering buzz as front runners in the block, this could prove a critical win for both men.

CJ Fresh (SHTCWA) vs Machine Gun Mayhem
A big contrast in styles, CJ Fresh will make his Warrior Pro debut against the monster Machine Gun Mayhem. MGM has been touted as the early favorite, but a big debut win from CJ could prove to people that the veteran from Super Hyper Turbo should not be looked over.

Markus Winter vs Red Masterson
A preview of the next Intercontinental Championship match, these two rising stars have a good shot at stealing the show. Expect this one to be fast and hard hitting, with both wanting to prove that they belong in the main event picture.

BLOCK B

Big Bama Ray (PCP) vs "Flyin" Jimmy Hawkins
Big Bama Ray makes his return to Warrior Pro to face Jimmy Hawkins, who has to be the biggest underdog in the tournament. Both men have struggled with losing streaks as of late, and a win here could be the jump start they need to make a legit run at the block.

Rampage Hunter vs Max Mosley
Rampage’s mini slump saw The Belt Collector lose one from his collection at Quarantine last month. But you have to assume he’ll be up and ready for his match against the veteran Max Mosley. There has never been any love lost between Rampage and members of the iWe roster, and you have to wonder if Max is getting any tips from Dirk van Oranje heading into this match.

Doc Wyatt vs John Logan
The main event of night one renews one of the biggest rivalries in wrestling. Doc vs Logan has headlined the first two G2 Finals, yet this year they’ll face off in the first round, competing for the first time in the same block. Its hard not to consider whoever wins this the favorite going forward, with the loser having to continue to hear whispers that their prime is behind them.

The first night of the 2020 G2 proved to be a fantastic primer to the weeks ahead, with fun entertaining matches up and down the card. Due to county restrictions, their were no fans in attendance for the show. Warrior Pro seems hopeful that some form of audience will be able to be present before the tournament is complete. Stay tuned for next week, where we’ll have Night Two action!

Kenta Aoki vs G.P. Christopher

Recap:
One of the most hotly anticipated match-ups of the entire tournament kicked things off with what may already stand as a top five match of the whole event. Both men started the match exchanging hard strikes, before kicking into high gear, resulting in numerous near falls that eventually ended with Aoki landing a second Samurai 84 Driver for the victory.

Winner: Kenta Aoki
Rating: *****

CJ Fresh vs Machine Gun Mayhem

Recap:
Power vs Speed was the story coming into this match, and it proved an accurate description. After trying early to match Machine Gun shot for shot, Fresh picked the pace up and seemed to get the big man on his heels, even landing a Fresh Drop that may have finished if not for the fact that Machine Gun tumbled to the outside. CJ then proceeded to toy with the monster instead of finishing him off, which ended poorly for him- eventually walking into a Bone Crusher triple powerbomb.

Winner: Machine Gun Mayhem
Rating: ****

Markus Winter vs Red Masterson

Recap:
A teaser for a future Intercontinental Championship bout was a brutally hard hitting match from start to finish. Winter, who has seemed unbeatable over the last six months, struggled to handle a determined Masterson out to prove that the A block is his to lose. Despite all of that, Winter proved hard to put away and it took a last second Cowboy Lariat from Red to seal the victory and avoid a 30 min draw.

Winner: Red Masterson
Rating: ***

Big Bama Ray vs Jimmy Hawkins

Recap:
Maybe the most impressive win of the night. Big Bama Ray dominated virtually the entire match, cutting Hawkins off anytime he tried to get something started. It seemed like Jimmy might have been brewing an upset when he set Bama up for a Hawk Splash, but the big man got up and Bama Slammed the former AAW IC champ for the decisive victory.

Winner: Big Bama Ray
Rating: ***

Rampage Hunter vs Max Mosley

Recap:
Rampage’s record against iWe talent when in their first meeting was 0-2. Rampage had also lost his last two matches, including one for the Intercontinental belt. All of those things had to be on his mind as he stared across from iWe vet Max Mosley. And for a while it seemed like Mosley was going to out wrestle the young star- baiting him into wild moves and crushing him with a piledriver on the outside. But back in the ring Rampage hit another gear and a triple german suplex proved enough for the win.

Winner: Rampage Hunter
Rating: ***

Doc Wyatt vs John Logan

Recap:
Another chapter in this rivalry gets written. John Logan, trying to shake off another failed attempt at the title, looked like a man on a mission. He dominated the match from the jump, hitting Doc with multiple Logan’s Run DDT’s that would have ended anyone else. But not Doc, who absorbed the punishment, then picked his spot to catch Logan off guard and surprise him with a rollup and the win.

Winner: Doc Wyatt
Rating: ****

Also… I hear Cowboy got himself a match on Friday… maybe I’ll mosey on over and have a look. See how nice that belt of his will look round ma waist. I bet yer pretty wife would like that wouldnt she?

With the G2 Tournament officially kicked off, we turn our attention to Night Two- where we should start to see some clarity between the top and bottom halfs of each block. Check out all the matches LIVE on Twitch this Thursday at 530 PM PT. Match previews are below, with promo’s from some of our fighters going up between now and fight time.

Match Previews for Night Two:

BLOCK A

G.P. Christopher (Lightning Pro) vs CJ Fresh (SHTCWA)
A chance to renew an old rivalry as the two brashest wrestlers on the planet face off in a dynamite opener to the second week of G2 action. Both men suffered tough losses last week, and neither will want to get stuck in an 0-2 hole. Expect a fast paced match that could prove to be all action- we could see the MotN in the opener for the second week in a row.

Red Masterson vs Kenta Aoki (Dragon Fire Japan)
A first time matchup between two of the hottest stars in their respective promotions. Aoki is gaining increasing buzz as the favorite of A block, while Red seems poised to show the world he’s more than just Doc’s muscle. The winner of this match will have the inside track to the Block lead- and it may come down to size vs speed to determine the winner.

Machine Gun Mayhem vs Markus Winter
Many observers thought Machine Gun was lucky to escape last weeks match with a win, pointing to multiple points in the match where CJ Fresh could have put him away. If he leaves the door open again this week, the Intercontinental Champion is unlikley to make the same mistake. Winter took a massive beating from Red last week, and he may have to prepare himself for another. A focused Machine Gun should be able to pick up the victory, but its anyone’s guess on if he can maintain that focus for an entire match.

BLOCK B

Max Mosley (iWe) vs Doc Wyatt
Surprisingly, this will be the first time Doc Wyatt will face off against a member of rival promotion iWe. Mosley was impressive in his first match against Rampage, but Doc will present a different challenge this week. Doc’s impressive victory over John Logan proves the former champ may have his mojo back- and that opportunistic sixth sense will prove difficult to scout leading up to their match. That said, a win over Doc would put “Magnificent” Max on the map, and keep him in the thick of the standings.

John Logan vs Big Bama Ray (PCP)
John Logan will have little time to dwell on his latest set back to Doc Wyatt, because Big Bama Ray is not fucking around. The big man from PCP put on the most impressive performance of the opening night, dismantling Jimmy Hawkins before showing a violent side after the match, continuing the punishment. John Logan has never lost a block match in a G2 tournament before last week, and if he’s not careful, he could be looking at an unfathomable 0-2 hole. This match could easily steal the show, and might serve as a strong predictor for where the block is heading.

Jimmy Hawkins vs Rampage Hunter
Old friends will collide in this clash of styles. Still considered a future star of the company, Jimmy Hawkins has struggled to maintain consistent success, and his first round bout is a perfect example of that. He’ll have a chance to adjust that strategy against a former training partner who looked at the top of his game last week. You would assume Hawkins will try to wear the big man out by keeping the pace moving, but if he’s unable to do so, this could look a lot like Jimmy’s first match, with Rampage holding a firm 2-0 record heading into a week three rematch with Big Bama Ray...

A few promos went up today on WPW.com in lieu of tomorrows G2 action. Before getting to that, if you missed it, El Macho had some strong words for Felix Santana Jr and a match seems inevitable between the two.

Night two of the G2 tournament will be broadcast LIVE on Twitch tomorrow at 530pm PT. Due to the continued issues with the pandemic, there will again be no crowd present for this weeks show. Warrior Pro officials are working with local government and are optimistic to have at least limited crowds return before the end of the tournament.

Doc Wyatt

I have to admit, last weeks win over John Logan still has me on cloud nine. It doesnt seem to matter how many times I crush that man's hopes and dreams, each one tastes just as sweet. This week? Well this week I get to fight Mediocre Max from the promotion that never runs shows. Somehow, I’ve yet to be booked against one of Harley Davidson’s goons- probably out of fear I’d embarrass them. We sir, times up. Tomorrow Doc Wyatt takes Sad Max to school and teaches him what its like to face the best in the world.

Markus Winter

The gods did not smile on me last week. But it makes no matter, for I stand tall, ready for the next battle. Machine Gun is a formidable foe indeed. But I will bring Thor’s Hammer, with Odin in my heart and I will DEFEAT the monster, Ha HA! This tournament of great warriors can only have one winner- and I will prevail to BE that winner, or die gloriously in battle, HA!

Red Masterson

People talkin like I ain’t focused on the task at hand. Like I gotta eye on Cowboy Johnston. Well… those people aint wrong. I want what he has, what Doc couldnt do. I want that belt, an I wanna take it from Cowboy. But you shud ask Markus Winter bout ma focus. That batshit crazy Viking sure did think I was focused last week. An Aoki gonna find out the same goddamn thing tomorrow night. Yall don’t know what I’m capable of, thats for damn sure. Maybe I’m juss gonna half to show you- show everyone. Saddle up, its gonna be a ride for sure.

Rampage Hunter

Rampage has a question. Why is it everyone keeps talking bout Doc and Logan? Who gonna win B block, Doc or Logan? Who the favorite, Doc or Logan? Oooooh Doc beat Logan so guess Doc gonna win B block. Fuck that shit. What bout Rampage? Who holding a world title right now? Is John Logan holding a world title? Is Doc Wyatt holding a world title? No. Motherfucking Rampage is. And its motherfucking Rampage who’s gonna win- again- and continue winnin till he gets back the only real title he’s ever had eyes on. The Warrior Pro Wrestling, World Heavyweight Championship. GP Christopher: One match, one loss. Not the way I'd like to start things off, but damn if that wasn't a good time up until the end, and let me be the first to say that Kenta Aoki is the real deal. As the Victorious Crown holder, I'll put the whole world on notice in saying that Kenta's got gold around his waist in the future, it's not about if, it's about when. So, while I hate losing, if I gotta lose, at least we tore the house down in the Preliminary Main Event, and at least I got no shame losing to that man.

GPC: So now, I'm in a little bit of a hole, not a deep one, but it's a hole. And now I got an old buddy coming up here tonight. The Freshest of the Fresh, the coolest of the cool, CJ Fresh. Every time we've ever locked up in the ring, it's been a hundo sort of deal. And I don't expect anything else tonight. CJ, whoever wins this one, let's give the fans tuning in something that makes them forget all the frustration, all the fatigue, all the troubles, let's give them a big time shot of adrenaline that keeps them up half the night and makes them feel like they went fifteen with Akira Maeda the next day! Because I know when you take your best shot, when I take mine, it's a fifty/fifty deal, just about who throws himself out there harder, who finds that last big opening at the right time. Night Two of the Golden Gate Tournament proved more of the same, a lot of faced paced hard hitting action. It was a night of upsets and brutal one sided affairs- but both blocks head into night three with a little more clarity in the standings, and urgency will need to set in with the bottom half or risk falling out of contention.

CJ Fresh (SHTCWA) vs G.P. Christopher (Lightning Pro)

Recap:
For the second night in a row, arguably the best match may have very well been the opener. These two long standing rivals went at each other from the opening bell- exchanging strikes early before working to finish each other off late. The finish would see CJ walk into a Destiny driver, putting the SHTCWA star in a tough 0-2 hole.

Winner: G.P. Christopher

Red Masterson vs Kenta Aoki (Dragon Fire Japan)

Recap:
Arguably the two most impressive performers from Night One picked up right where they left off in this match. Both came out guns blazing, and if Aoki thought he would have an advantage keeping the pace up, Red smashed that strategy early, sticking with Aoki shot for shot. It seemed like the Dragon Fire star was destined to win, avoiding the big mans lariats and hitting two Aoki Drivers- but it proved not enough to keep the big man down. Couple that with some help from fellow Outlaw Prime Time Worthy, and the big Texan would finally hit the big Lariat and a brutal powerbomb to stay undefeated.

After the match, an enraged Red put the boots to Aoki as Worthy distracted the ref, eventually hitting a second Cowboy Lariat before security could come out to make the save.

Winner: Red Masterson

Markus Winter vs Machine Gun Mayhem

Recap:
Markus Winter just continues to impress. Machine Gun was brutal all match, rag dolling the IC champion all over the ring, which included a wicked kick over the top rope and multiple brutal power bombs. But, as he has been all year, the viking proved hard to kill. Absorbing all the violence he finally picked his spot and nailed the Winter Is Coming for a shocking upset.

Winner: Markus Winter

Doc Wyatt vs “Magnificent” Max Mosley (iWe)

Recap:
Easily the best match of B block on this night, and maybe the best match of the night. Magnificent Max looked like a superstar, dictating the pace and hitting Doc Wyatt with everything he had. Doc seemed overwelmed and perhaps a bit under prepared for his opponent- but nevertheless kept his composure and endured the onslaught. And in typical Doc fashion, after eating multiple near fall finishes, hit a piledriver into a superman punch for the win… except Max kicked out- and then hit Doc with a very Doc-esque rollup for the surprising victory.

Winner: Max Mosley

John Logan vs Big Bama Ray (PCP)

Recap:
If this were a boxing match, it would be the equivalent of both men trying to knock each other out in the first round. After about 5 minutes of feeling each other out, and trying to out muscle each other, both men decided to just let it fly, each trading big move after big move- with neither giving ground. At one point Big Bama ate three consecutive Logans Run DDT’s, getting right back up after each one. In the end, Logan’s offense was too much for the PCP big man- hitting an Sky High and a forth Logans Run for the victory.

Winner: John Logan

Rampage Hunter vs “Flyin” Jimmy Hawkins

Recap:
For the second straight week, it seems Jimmy Hawkins never stood a chance. Overpowered and unable to use his speed advantage, Rampage tore through his training partner for an easy win. Hawkins made a brief comeback, showering Rampage with superkicks, but the current PCP champion shrugged them off and ended it with a vicious LIGHTS OUT Powerbomb.

Winner: Rampage Hunter

What Rampage been talkin about eh? Ain’t this what Rampage been sayin? Time for everyone to be listenin- this is Rampage’s time. Doc? He had his time. Logan? He had his shot, multiple times. The first two weeks of block action have brought some exciting action, and have left the standings very open ended as to who could be the favorite to earn a trip to the finals. Week three, which will be broadcast LIVE this Thursday at 5:30pm PT, could be the week that we start to see separation in each block, and the contenders become clearer as some people fade to the back.

Match Previews for Night Three:

BLOCK A

Red Masterson vs G.P. Christopher (Lightning Pro)
The kickoff to the show will again be an important one, and could serve as a barometer for match of the night. Red Masterson holds the early lead in A Block, and a win over GPC would serve to both strengthen that lead as well as take out a primary contender for the top spot. But thats easier said than done- after a narrow loss on night one GPC has been perfect- both in an impressive night two win over CJ Fresh, as well as victory in his recent Office appearance. Masterson will have a significant size advantage, and he has looked good against faster opponents so far, but expect a dog fight from the King of the Openers.

Kenta Aoki (Dragon Fire Japan) vs Machine Gun Mayhem
With both men sitting at 1-1, this could be a make or break match. A loss would dig a deep hole while a win would re-open a path to the top of the standings. Aoki has been extremely impressive in his inaugural tournament, and he would seem to have all the needed elements to upset the Warrior Pro powerhouse. But Machine Gun is an unpredictable fighter who only seems to occasionally care about actually winning. His upset to Markus Winter should fuel his rage, which is bad news for the young standout. Expect this to be an explosive match with so much on the line for whats ahead.

CJ Fresh (SHTCWA) vs Markus Winter
Speaking of make or break, the last match of A block will be just that. Markus Winter could see himself near the top of the standings with a win, while a loss for CJ would effectively eliminate him from the tournament. The Freshest has had two razor close matches to start the tournament, and it isn’t inconceivable to see an 0-2 start end with winning the block (Doc Wyatt won the block last year despite three losses). But he will need a win, this week, to have any conceivable shot. Both men have been putting on great matches so far, expect this one to feel like a finals bout.

BLOCK B

John Logan vs Max Mosley (iWe)
A battle of veteran fighters who have been using this tournament to prove they still have a ton of fight left in them. Logan has been a bit Jekyll and Hyde, showing dominance mixed with a lack of focus- while Max Mosley has taken advantage of Doc’s ego to shock the former champion. Despite long careers this will be the first time these two have ever faced off against each other, and it will be interesting to see if Max can pull off the second straight upset, or if Logan can maintain the dominance he displayed last week against another promotion outsider.

Doc Wyatt vs Jimmy Hawkins
Is something wrong with Doc Wyatt? The former champion and G2 winner has looked less himself the past two weeks, and a timely roll-up on John Logan is the only thing keeping this match from being the battle of the 0-2’s. But then again, maybe its all going according to plan- Doc sat at 1-1 last year as well before taking the block and his opponent this week has been in a bigger funk. Jimmy Hawkins has not found his footing yet in this tournament, and if he doesnt show up this week, might as well pack his bags. Unlike CJ Fresh over in A block, “Flyin” Jimmy’s matches have not been competitive- barely lasting 10 minutes with both Big Bama Ray and Rampage Hunter. He’s going to have to dig deep to stay alive against the former world champ. If he does come to fight, this could be a sneaky pick for MotN.

Big Bamma Ray (PCP) vs Rampage Hunter
The main event is actually a rematch from one of the best Warrior Pro matches of the year, and the forth time these two have stared back at each other across the ring this year. They met in a three way match for a shot at the PCP title. They met in the finals of the Southwest Memorial tournament in Tiger Stripe Pro. And they brought the house down at a Warrior Grounds show. Rampage won each and every time. They have all been competitive, some have had match of the year buzz. But Rampage is a puzzle Big Bamma Ray has not solved. They’ll main event Night Three days after Rampage again successfully defended the PCP title. Expect another brutal big boy fight as both men try and knock the other out. Can Bama finally get over the Rampage hump? Or will the Belt Collector take a commanding lead in the block

Night Three of the G2 showcased some of the best matches the tournament has had to offer thus far, but failed to bring any definitive clarity on who might be the front runners for each block. It will instead come down to these final two weeks to determine who will have a shot in the finals to take on World Heavyweight Champion Vic Baron at Warriorversary.

Red Masterson vs G.P. Christopher

Recap:
A close match from the start, but it very much seemed like GPC-who has been red hot both inside and outside the tournament as of late- had the big man well scouted. He seemed to anticipate Red’s crushing lariat any time it came out, and after multiple Destiny Drivers, gifted Masterson his first defeat and a share of the block lead.

Winner: G.P. Christopher

Kenta Aoki vs Machine Gun Mayhem

Recap:
Aoki has been one of the gems of this tournament, and has received buzz both inside and outside the promotion as a fast rising star. But apparently Machine Gun didnt get the memo. The monster was in peak form, shrugging off most of the Dragon Fire star’s offense before hitting a Bone Crusher for the victory.

Winner: Machine Gun Mayhem

CJ Fresh vs Markus Winter

Recap:
CJ came out in this match like a man desperate for a win- pushing the pace and keeping The Viking off balance. But he left a tiny window, and Markus Winter took advantage, hitting back to back Winter Is Coming for the victory.

Doc Wyatt vs Jimmy Hawkins

Recap:
Another man in bad need of a win, Jimmy Hawkins left everything he had in the ring- it just wasn’t good enough against maybe the smartest wrestler on the planet. Hawkins threw everything at Doc, hitting superkicks and knees that should have put an end to the match. But Doc being Doc, stayed aware enough to keep close to the ropes- and when Hawkins went to finish the match for good with a Hawk Splash, he dove out of the ring and stalled. While Hawkins rested in the ring Doc snuck back in, hit the brass knuckles and covered for the pin.

Winner: Doc Wyatt

John Logan vs Max Mosley

Recap:
Another classic. Coming off an impressive win over Doc Wyatt, Max Mosley seemed determined to put down another former G2 winner with a barrage of suplexes. It was eerily reminiscent of Logan’s failed championship match with Vic Baron- only this time Logan found a way to hang on- and a reversed irish whip into a massive Sky High turned into the difference maker and gave Logan a win by the skin of his teeth.

Winner: John Logan

Big Bamma Ray vs Rampage Hunter

Recap:
The main event proved to be another chapter in what is turning into a storied rivalry between these two. No different from there previous bouts, it was all offense from the opening bell- with both men going for knockouts right from the start. But experience breeds new strategies, and unlike past fights Bama seemed to be ready for Rampage’s spear. When it came out, he was able to side step it, hit a powerslam, and then hit the Rammer Jammer for the pin.

Winner: Big Bama Ray
